We stayed at the Crown Plaza last week and I just wanted to share how great it was. We booked with Getawaytoday and the rate was about 100.00 per night. We had a lovely room, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in! Breakfast was included (although they did not say that on the GAT site) and it was AWESOME. Anything you could want for breakfast... eggs, toast, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal, omlets made to order, blintzes, bacon, ham... I could go on and on ;) I love a hotel with a good breakfast! The pool was nice, good customer service, good bathroom etc.

The other thing that was GREAT was their hotel shuttle. It left our hotel every hour and went straight to DL. It took no more than 10 min to be dropped off at the front gates. We never had a problem getting on the shuttle in the morning, but did have trouble once at night... although we were there during Spring break. When they noticed the shuttles getting crowded they just dropped off and picked up constantly... so even though we missed that one shuttle there was one there a few min later, so no big deal.

Target right across the street and a few resturants in the parking lot.

Just wanted to recommend this hotel... it really was great if you don't mind taking a shuttle to DL.

Wow sounds great! I'm glad you had a good trip! and it is great when they have a good breakfast casue it saves you some money durning the trip too!

We stayed there in 2002, and they shared a shuttle with several other hotels at that time.

Do they have their own private shuttle now, or was it the ART? Nice that they include breakfast, they didn't do that back then!

It's not ART, they share with the Hyatt next door. lol I already asked. :) Thanks for the review, we are staying there this weekend, checking in on Saturday and out on Tuesday, Tuesday we head to the HoJo for 1 more night. :) Our stay is free, that's why we are staying there. We normally stay at the HoJo and just walk but a free hotel, you can't beat that! Nice to know it's a good place to stay.

yeah, it is a shared shuttle with the hyatt. They pick up at the Hyatt first and then come to the Crown Plaza. Listen for the guy who works in the evening who says "Watch your step... watch your step... watch your step..." We got a real kick out of him :) If you say "thank you" he will stop his "watch your step" mantra to say "Thank you very much, enjoy your stay"
He was really very nice... I think it was the fact that his "script" never varied, lol. Sleep deprivation makes normal things really funny :lmao:

The breakfast was included because we booked through GAT... normally it is a 12.00 per person buffet.

Great - we're staying here May 1-5, so I'm happy to hear it's a good choice. We get brekkie too because we booked concierge - I think it's not included otherwise (unless you book through certain companies??). Did you have to pay the resort fee or was that included in your booking, do you know? We booked through WDTC and I have no idea!

We're getting so excited now  Less than a month - yahoo!

no, we did not have to pay the resort fee through GAT. I would assume they wave it for other travel co's as well. It is $7 per day otherwise. You will love the breakfast, it is by far the best I have had at any hotel :) Have fun!

Thanks for the info. By any chance did you drive, and do you know how much the parking is at this hotel?
Thanks!

I think the parking is included in the "resort fee" that you pay. They have a free shuttle to and from Disneyland (not the ART).

The driver's name is Kenneth and we found him extremely funny. We are excited to go back in July. We will be staying at the Hyatt in a Kid's suite. The Crowne Plaza is very nice but cramped with 2 adults, one 13yr old and one 11 year old.

Do you have photos of the rooms that you could post on the following thread.....?
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1745747 (also, why not consider posting your review there also?)

It would be wonderful for newbies looking for a hotel or for those just looking to try something different.

Thanks for considering:thumbsup2

I second that request...I'm not necessarily a DL newbie, but I'm always interested in seeing other properties and reviews of them. It would be great to have them all in one place, especially since the search feature doesn't work on the boards.:)
