Crowds worse at Thanksgiving or Christmas or in Summer?

I can't bring myself to go in the summer because of the heat.

The Unofficial Guide lists Thanksgiving crowds as being only 6's and 7's (can this be true?), while most all summer days are higher than that.

I am considering Thanksgiving (beginning with the Sat prior to Thanksgiving) or the week after Christmas (Dec 30-Jan 7th).

Any thoughts on which should be less crowded?

Are Thanksgiving crowds really not so bad? :confused3

we used to always go at Thanksgiving and never had any problems with crowds. I mean we did still have to wait in line but nothing crazy. The weather just started getting very unpredictable so we changed our timing.

My vote would be Tday, it's gotten very busy the Wed- Sat/Sun , but the previous week not too bad. I would say it is by far the least busy of the times you are mentioning. I would go to MK the Sunday and Monday or Tuesday and then Wednesday and Sat to other Dinsey parks and be preapred for major crowds Thursday to Sat so maybe pool days or get there first thing in the morning or really utilize Fastpass.

I vote for the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I went the Second week in December last year and it was Great except for Saturday. We all know Saturdays are a nightmare. Going at this time you get to enjoy all the holiday offerings.

My guesses as to why this happens:

1) Many public schools have off only Wed, Thu and Fri of TDay week, but much longer around Christmas.

2) Out-of-state guests believe they don't have enough time during Thanksgiving to justify the expense and/or trouble, especially if one or two of those vacation days will be spent driving to WDW. (Something like 70% of guests get to Orlando by car.)

Hope this helps. Thanks for reading the book!

Thanks to all who responded. You guys are very helpful!

Hey, thanks for your input Len! I was rather hoping you'd spot this! :wave2:

I appreciate your observations regarding WHY this might be the case. I've always wondered about it, and your guesses do make sense.

I guess given the choice between battling Christmas vs Thanksgiving crowds, I'll have to go in November. OH!!! What a shame, to have to go back sooner rather than later.... :Pinkbounc

Having been at WDW on all 3 of those dates, I'll take the summer heat anyday. Never again would I do Christmas nor Thanksgiving.

If you can, go on the weeks just before Thanksgiving or Christmas.
