As I sat there working on our schedule for the um teenth time I realized I had us going to Epcot on Saturday Oct 2.Will this be a mistake with everyone going to the Food and Wine Expo??Would waiting until that Monday be better.I am clueless with the impact this event has on the parks.
Thanks ::MinnieMo

Yes, wait to go to Epcot until Monday. October 2nd is the first weekend of winefest and it will be very crowded. F&W brings out lots of locals on the weekends and the WS area will be very crowded. Monday however should be quite nice and far less crowded. Enjoy!

Yes, F&W will be more crowded then usual in early October, but it still will not be very crowded. In fact the reason for hosting F&W is to bring more ppl to the parks during a traditionally low time. On a scale of 1-10, most of the parks will be around a 2 crowdedness, while Epcot may make it up to 3, and that only in the World Showcase where most of the F&W events happen. By contrast, Xmas Day would be a 10 on that scale and summertime usually a minimum of 7.

So it will be crowded compared to early October in the other parks, but on the grand scale it will not be very crowded. Plus the real foodies (like me) will not be competing with you for space on Future World rides for the most part, as they will be milling around the Showcase, tasting lovely little morsels and sipping little tastes of precious nectar (aka wine).

So you could change your schedule around, but I would not recommend it. Plus it might be fun and interesting to partake in that first F&W weekend for yourself.
