Crowds Weekend Before the 50th?

Hi everyone!

I am taking a girls weekend trip the weekend before the 50th anniversary (September 25th is our planned park day). How crazy do you think MK will be? Not sure if everyone will be holding out to go on the anniversary or if people will try and get it in before the big celebration?

I haven't been in 5 years and would love your thoughts! Thanks.

It's been pretty busy now if you check the app, but it's also summer. I think it would be manageable at MK that day, given that all kids would be back to school. While there could be a Sat 9/25 to Sat 10/2 as popular picks to get a taste of the 50th but still have some lower crowds (relative to early Oct.)... I think you'd be fine. Most people wanting to experience the 50th are going to want to be there for a longer duration than just a day or 2. Also MK, with its higher # of attractions, you should be able to get a lot in with a good touring plan.

Touring Plans shows that Saturday as a 5 out of 10. So normal crowd levels. Friday (24th) or Sunday (26th) show a bit lower crowd levels of 3 and 2.

If you have just the one park day, that Sat., MK will probably be ok. We almost always have a trip the week of Labor Day for the lighter crowds. We moved ours for this Sept to Nov 6-12 for the 50th celebration. Given the celebration, F&W, Jersey Week, Wine & Dine Half Marathon Wknd, Veteran's Day, and etc., I'm expecting some 7/10 crowds mixed in with a couple lighter crowd days (i.e. Tue/Wed), but we didn't want to miss Ratatouille, and a few other things.

I'm going through picking our park days today. In general, I feel that AK is the least desirable park reservation. Sat 11/6 I picked AK since there will be extended vacations from Holloween, Sat is generally the busiest park day, HS/MK will be popular starting parks, and EP will be really busy with the locals flooding in for Food & Wine/RAT. Sun, 11/7, I have MK. Mon. 11/8: HS, Tue 11/9: MK, Wed. 11/10: HS, Thurs 11/11: EP, and Fri 11/12: MK. There will be some Very Merriest after hours party nights announced that could impact, but that's sort of how we think on park picking. Trying to spread out parks a bit, end at MK, bit more emphasis on MK/HS starts, and trying to predict lower crowds. I don't use Touring Plans, or anything other than just guessing. We expect it to be busy. But we have the whole week, park hopper, and we go every year.
