Crowds/Weather in Early October?

I have officially booked our trip with friends for October 1st - 7th staying at POR. We are used to travelling in mid-november, except for one disastrously crowded trip in early march a few years ago.

What can we expect for crowd levels and weather compared to november crowds/weather?

I keep bragging to people how perfect the weather is and relatively uncrowded at that time of year to convince them to go. I don't want to look like a total liar! haha

My dh and I went last year on our honeymoon from the 2nd to the 9th and we enjoyed it. The weather was actually kind of hot a few afternoons. The crowds weren't that bad at all and I highly recommend going counter clockwise in the mornings. We were able to do four major rides in MK in a hour.

I agree, that is the best time to go im my opinion. We're going in December because we all wanted to see the Christmas festivities, but after that it will probably always be Sept/Oct.. Have fun!!

HI - Our first trip in 2003 we went from October 12 - 19th. Crowds and weather were great! But we also had nothing to compare it to. This year we went a week later and it was much more crowded since the UK seemed to be on some sort of break. You might be in luck going a little earlier. We did have a little rain on both trips but maybe one day out of seven. Certainly nothing to complain about. October remains our favorite time of year to go and we're taking a big group in October 2006. Have fun!
