Just wondering what crowd level and what type of weather to expect the first week in Oct. It's been a long time since I've been at that time of the year. My last two trips were May and Aug (very hot, very crowded). Any info will greatly help me in the planning process.
Thx =)

October is still warm. Not in the 100's but still pretty warm. Its more of the rainy season. So you have the mid afternoon showers around that time of year. Where it usually rains around 4-5 pm everyday.

We used to go to WDW every year in early or mid October -- the weather was wonderful. However, as the years went by, the crowding got worse and worse. We ended up in early November, trying to escape the crowds. We switched to late January, though partly because we felt we needed some warmth in mid-Winter too.

We were there last year at this exact time. It was far hotter than I expected, plus the humidity was intense. We are not used to humidity at all, so it really took the energy out of us. I asked a few people about the heat and humidity, and they said it really doesn't begin to drop off until after the middle of the month - so at the beginning expect more the averages and highs and lows of September. BTW, we were there right after the 4 hurricanes that hit Florida, so I am not sure what the crowds are supposed to be, but they were pretty high last year due to all the people who had bumped their vacations waiting for the hurricanes to pass. Even the bus drivers were surprised how busy it was.

Good Luck!

We went the first week in October a few years ago and the crowds were very low, but it was incredibly HUMID. It rained/thunderstormed every night (late night) and then day it unbelievably humid. We would leave the room at 8am and open the door to a wall of heat...it was awful!

I've heard the crowds aren't as low anymore in October, so I can't say how it is now, but when we went almost everything was walk-on, I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes for any ride or attraction.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm just hoping that the crowds and weather are a bit better than they were last may and the august before that :)
