Crowds the week between Christmas and New Years

Can anyone tell me how bad the crowds are during the week between Christmas and New Years? I see both parks are open 8am-11pm. (Trying to coordinate high school schedules and college schedules is crazy)

It's the most crowded week of the year.

Definitely better as far as crowds go.

I've been twice during that time and both times stayed offsite. It might be ok if you stay at a deluxe onsite hotel to get the express benefits but it will still be crowded.

I would choose the earlier option.

We would be staying at Royal Pacific. Touring plans says 5/10 or 6/10 (yellow) for each day. Def durable with express pass and cooler temps. We are used to the oppressive heat of summer.
