How are the crowds? How is the weather? We are debating between early March or mid August...
Don't go in March.... It will help the crowd level while I'm there in March....
All joking aside....
I'll be there the first weekend of March. I'm tied to the school calendar and don't really have any other options.
We went the same time this year and found the parks full. First thing in the morning it wasn't too bad. But the volume of people defiantly built as the day went on. Indy and Splash Mt. were both over an hour wait. We are fortunate enough to go every year so if it's crowded we just go with the flow and make the best of it.
Being in the Portland area of Oregon, March weather is heaven. Shorts and t-shirts are perfect for us. In the evening maybe a sweatshirt. We have always had sunny weather, even though some say it rains in the spring. March park hours are generally from 10am to 8pm. Definitely means we need to make the most of our time in the parks. We have found the refurbishment list in March to have several attractions closed. You can see here what the possibilities are for March 2015 (click here

I haven't gone in August because of the grandkids schedule. But if I had the opportunity to go in August, I'd go the week before annual pass re-open. Watching threads over the last couple of years, those that have gone then felt the crowds weren't too bad. I'd expect August to be VERY warm. One nice thing about August is the park hours. They generally open earlier and stay open later. I'd love to have that much time to see the parks. I don't think there are as many, if any refurbishment in August. Mid-day breaks at the pool sounds like so much fun. I'd also budget to be able to stay on-site. On-site perks in the summer time would be so nice.
Here's a thread I saved about August trips, in hopes one of these times I could snag the grandkids for August.

I hope you enjoy your time planning. Trying to decide when would be best is a real challenge.
