Crowds Thanksgiving week (generally)

I know Disney is crowded the week of Turkey Day, but I was wondering how bad it gets at Universal?

My sister is a teacher and gets 3 days off that week, and we are thinking about a girls' trip (sis, mom and I) that week.

Sis also wants to do Seaworld, so any opinions on the appropriateness of SW for adults w/o kids would be appreciated, too.

Up until Thanksgiving the crowds aren't too bad but that weekend is a zoo everywhere! Be prepared for LONG lines at Disney, Universal and Sea World.

Sea World is great w/o kids...there are super shows to keep you occupied throughout the day. You won't even miss the kids.
;)

If your sister is a teacher in Fl, SW offers free admission for Fl teachers year round... and Universal has been running offers too... but only for Fl teachers..however, I haven't seen them run it around a holiday.. usually Universal blacks that out... but worth looking into

and yes.. any theme park you decide to go to that weekend will be very crowded, worse there than a shopping mall......

Sis is a teacher in Virginia.

She and I won the free tickets from the Superbowl thing back in January.

I was hoping she would be able to go in either late August or sometime [anytime] during HHN, but she is really insisting that TG week is the only viable time outside of Xmas week, given the school schedule.

Thanks for the info, though.

Here's a question -- if you are staying onsite and thus have Express access, are you still looking at very long waits? Any tips for negotiating the crowds?

TIA!

The Express lines might be a little longer than usual but they will still be significantly less than the standby lines.

The only tip, Express wise I can give you is this: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RIDE RIPSAW FALLS BETWEEN 12-5. Ride before or after those times, as between 12-5 (hottest part of the day) the EXPRESS line often exceeds 30-45 mins. The regular line: 90-120+

Other than that, use your Express as you see fit. Don't be surprised if the Express line gets to around 20 mins for some rides.

Thanks! Your advice is noted and will be taken! :thumbsup2

What about crowds the weekend before Thanksgiving? We are looking at going Nov 20-23.

We have booked HRH for November 21 to 26- leaving out on Turkey Day. We had plan to get up late and hit the parkd each day- what kind of wait might we be looking at with our hotel express pass?

Thanks for the quick reply- Which rides will provide the longest wait in your opinion?
Spiderman and the coasters at IOA without a doubt. At the Studios...Shrek, RoTM, MIB and The Simpsons are the main attractions that usually have bad lines. If the new coaster is open when you go, make sure you head there first thing.
