Crowds right after July 4th?

We are thinking of planning our next trip July 5- 12 in 2006. How is it right after July 4th? Are the crowds still there(silly question) or is it crazy that week? Being a teacher, my choices are the summer or the vacations.
Has anyone been there at that time? Thanks!!!

Most of July is pretty busy anyhow. So, I would still expect some of the higher crowds seen throughout the year.

I read another thread - do AK on 7/4. MK clsoes down by noon on 7/4 -many people - SO - MK may be good on 7/5 - since people were there the night before for the of July till 1 AM

EPCOT can handle crowds. So I would do MK on 7/5, EPCOT 7/6, MGM 7/7, AK 7/8 and then what ever.

It'll be hot, so take pool breaks.
Play some mini golf, enjoy a nice sit down lunch with A/C.

Wear a WDW poncho, do to the park in the rain.
