We will be arriving Friday night 10/18 with first day in the parks Sat. morning 10/19...first time using our Flex passes so can park hop each day but not sure how Oogie Boogie Bash on Sunday night affects crowds(we do not have tickets so want to make sure to plan best strategy for our days in both parks). We will be there through Monday (just 1/2 day-morning) but was curious on touring strategies for Saturday and Sunday. Should we avoid DCA on Sunday altogether with the Halloween party there that night or does it get more crazy later in the afternoon? We also currently have dinner res. at Wine Country Trattoria Saturday evening (6:30pm) and Minnie’s Plaza breakfast Sunday (10:30am). Any experiences on the weekend crowds so far on Saturday and Sunday with the Halloween parties? Any advice is greatly appreciated!😃

On party nights the park hosting the party is usually pretty empty. Of course once the mix in starts then both parks will be crowded.

We will be there at the same time! We will be doing DL on Saturday a little nervous about that... and Oogie Boogie Sunday! From my research DCA will be less crowded than DL on Saturday!

Thank you! I am so excited for our trip...it’s been almost 4 years since our last trip to DL! We were living on the east coast the last few years so went to WDW a couple times but am so glad to be back now on the west coast by our fav, DL! Thank you for the tip on DCA on Saturday, that’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure since we’ve never been during Halloween time with the parties. I’ve been trying to research as much as I can as well. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I'll be there at that time next year so will be interested to hear about your experiences with crowds!

I definitely will post! I’m honestly getting a little nervous looking at how crowded it’s been this past week and now into the weekend!😬 We’ve never done MaxPass but now I’m wondering if we should. First time using our Flex pass.

Many Utah schools are out this Thursday and Friday. Expect it to be insanely busy. Many, many, Utah families will be heading that way.

We will be there Saturday thru Tuesday. The crowds look intense for Saturday! I'm kinda scared. I am a WDW vet but first timer to DL

Make sure you read these threads before your visit:
A DLR Guide for WDW Vets
"Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy" by @Skyegirl1999 - www.disboards.com/threads/maxpass-fastpass-an-overview-and-some-strategy.3726246/ -- ask all your MP questions in this thread!
Download the free DLR app now, if you haven't already, and get used to using it. Make sure it works well on your phone. Have a credit card on file so that you can purchase MP right after activating your tickets at the gate and so that you can use Mobile Ordering. (Look over the menus on the app and on the DLR website so that you know where to get what you want and where to skip.) When the parks are crowded, being well prepared in advance puts you ahead of the game.

Both parks will be packed this weekend, right now most of the big rides are an hour wait time on a Monday. The end of the empty parks has come and gone, expect it to be busy for the rest of the year.

I am leaving today and have been here since the 10th. The park is overly crowded even on oogie boogie days. Once the party starts DL is even more crowded. You can barely walk in some areas. Rides are going down several times a day. People are just being rude and will walk over you or your children with no regard. Honestly mornings are still the best time in the park around noon it starts getting bad with ride times. If you want to ride millennium falcon get there 1st thing at 8am to walk in you will still have 60min to get on the ride at least 10 to 40 minutes if you do single rider. Best of luck to you and family on having a magical time.

Thank you! I keep going back and forth as to what park we should rope drop each morning! Saturday at DCA and Sunday at DL or should we spend the morning at DCA some before the party? I’ve never been during Halloween parties and I keep researching but have had a hard time nailing down what is best! Thanks for the trip report...hope you had a wonderful time despite the massive crowds!

We won't get there till noon Saturday so we only get Sunday to rope drop. We're going to do DCA Sunday for rope drop. If we can get up Monday after the party we'll do RD at DL.
