Crowds on Opening Day of F&W Festival??

Our itinerary works the best if we're at EPCOT on October 18th, which happens to be the first day of the F&W Festival.

Does this create extra-large crowds?? It's a Saturday so I'm thinking maybe it brings out lots of locals. Anyone have first-hand experience with this??

Can you believe that I have never experienced the F&W festival? Isn't that sad?

I'll just bump this back to page one for you. I know we have several locals who visit the DIS, perhaps they can offer you some advice.

I was there last year for opening day of the F&W festival. It was not overly crowded, especially early in the day. If this year is anything like last year (which was very slow, all around), you should be fine going on opening day.
