I really!!!! want to see the Halloween rides and fireworks this year, but we will be at DLR for 6 days in September. We are considering upgrading to DAP while we are there because DH's family want to do a big trip next year. If so, I may convince to do a mini trip in October, but it would have to be a weekend because of work/school.

So to my question: Is Halloween super busy? I think it would be fun. All my kids are under 9 so they could all dress up even if we didn't do the Halloween party.

I live in So. California and we are at Disneyland at least once a week. During Halloween they have something called Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party which they do in the theme park Calfornia which is right accross the way from Disneyland. Tickets are not very expensive and are only sold to a limited amount of people. It is very worth it, tons of trick or treat stations for the kids along with arts and crafts, and several Halloween party stations set up. They also have the rides open and since only a limited numbers of tickets are sold you dont have the long lines to deal with. I have went every year since my daughter was born and we LOVE it.
Other then that the parks are not over crowded during this time, mid week is the best time to go because kids are still in school and this cuts down on the number of families and lines.
Good luck and have fun! I am happy to help you with any other questions.

Thanks. Halloween is a Saturday this year so I'm wondering if it would be busier than any other Saturday in October?

I am wondering the same thing! :confused3 We will be there on the 31st also! :thumbsup2

I've been last year on Halloween. It wasn't crowded really badly. Only parade seating was quite scarce. I was looking for a spot about an hour before and almost everything was full.

It may be a little worse this year though as it's Saturday.

My faimily's 1st trip to DL is Oct 6-10th. We are staying at the HOJO. I have found out they are now booked for these dates. I thought I was picking an off time of year, but now am worried it will be packed! Hope you can pick better than I did.:sad1:

We went to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party last year - not on Halloween, but in the middle of October. It was absolutely great! I would suggest to anyone going to D-land during October to attend the party! It was the highlight of our trip!
By the way - it's not just for kids - we had a group of 4 adult ladies and we dressed up as pirates and had a ball! This party is also a great time to take advantages of rides such as soaring and Toy Story Midway Mania - cause the kids and parents are busy trick or treating, thus the lines are much shorter!
Have fun!!

Is there a special Halloween parade? If not, we'd skip the parade since we'll be there in Sept too.

Columbus Day is the 12th so maybe that's why its so busy. I think there are conventions going on too?

If we do it, we may take DD out of school on Friday and do the TOT Party on Friday night. And hit the parks Sat. & Sun. They won't mind dressing up and TOTing a day earlier.

There was no special Halloween parade in DLR last year. The TOT party did have something they called "character cavalcade" or something, but that was it.
