Crowds Nov 1-8

My wife and I have been going to WDW for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival for the last 3 years. We absolutely love it. We prefere to stay at the Boardwalk because it is so close to Epcot. We tried to book the boardwalk this year for Nov 1-8 and found that it was full. In fact, all DVC resorts, except for SSR, were booked during that week. Over the last few years, we have found the crowds to be very light during this time. This year appears to be different. Does anyone know why? Are there any special events happening Nov 1-8, in addition to the Food and Wine Festival, that would cause all these resorts to be booked so early?

The dvc resorts always book at 11 months for the resorts near Epcot during the entire Food & Wine Festival - this is nothing new. Last year I booked a weekend (Sat/Sun) for one of my staff, and called exactly at 7 months but had to waitlist the Sunday. Same is true in early December - it's a "low" season, but dvc rooms book extremely fast.

Waitlist the resort you want, but at least you got in at SSR!

I believe your dates include "Jersey Week". The New Jersey teachers have an annual convention early in November and there is no school for Thursday & Friday of that week. Many New Jersey parents take their children out of school for the entire week and go to WDW. (New Jersey has many DVC members. In fact, it may have the most of any state).

Since the 7 month mark for your dates opened in April, I'm not surprised that the DVC resorts are pretty much booked for that week. These days, if you want to stay at the BCV or the BWV during Food & Wine Festival time and have to use the 7 month window, you pretty much have to book day by day to have any chance of getting in. This is especially true of Jersey Week.

That is correct - this year "Jersey Week" includes for some districts, the first full week off due to the presidential election and conventions. My family and I have booked SSR for this week.

We went during Jersey week last year and are going again this year. While getting a room at DVC can be a pain, the crowds at the parks were not bad.

This is always a busy time for DVC/boardwalk locations especially. This is why we bought an add on for the BWV. Good luck. We are earlier (10-22 to 10-31)
