I'm going to be at Disneyland next Thursday & Friday and was wondering what the crowds will be like. Will it be really crowded or will the crowds be lighter?

You never know! The holiday seasons have been up and down so far. Sounds like october was hit and miss during the week monday thru thursday but then busy on the weekends friday thru sunday. I think thursday afternoon will be the least crowded time...picking up in the evening and then friday will be busier as a lot of schools are actually getting out thursday this year instead of friday. If things go like they usually do I think you'll have many others enjoying the decorations with you. We are leaving next monday night but will be leaving wednesday night. I am just going with the expectations of crowds and if not then great! :)

We're going next week as well... we've never been in December... what's the weather been like? I'm thinking jeans and short sleeved shirts with a sweatshirt for the evening shoud be good?

Should be cloudy and cool with chances of rain all week. :(

According to our local SoCal weather report on the morning news, it is supposed to be non-stop rain practically all the way up through Tuesday and may a bit on Wednesday. OP, I will also be there next Friday - or at least, on the DLR property - and Accuweather.com says an ominous RAIN for the 19th.

So, bottom line is, the high chance of rain through Tuesday and possibly into Wednesday, as well the rain on the Friday 19th will keep crowds waaaaaaay down! Even the threat of rain keeps them down, but when it actually happens, you can pretty much walk onto almost any ride. Just be prepared with an umbrella or poncho in hand!

We're there Wed - Friday next week. I prefer rain to huge crowds. :thumbsup2

As expected, the Accuweather forecast changed again, but my local morning SoCal news is stil insisting that there is going to be lots of rain up until Wednesday, when it will taper off. So you may not hit any rain on Wed. And according to Accuweather, the 19th now is not definite RAIN, like it ominously stated yesterday, but a chance of some rain in the evening. So you may not get any that day either!

I don't like huge crowds either, but it was a MESS for us when it rained - the tickets got soaked, everything in our bags got soaked. We couldn't take pictures. I wouldn't want to do that again. It was just dreadful because it was heavy rain. So you may be wishing for rain, but I am counter-wishing for NO rain on the 19th and through the rest of my trip!:goodvibes

Sherry, according to weather.com it looks sunny for your trip! Of course that could change at any time I realize and of course who knows if it's even accurate to begin with. But I'm bummed because, at least according to this site, there will be rain on Wed when we were planning on going. So, we might not be going if it's raining because DS is just getting over a cold. Plus DS isn't a big fan of water so I'm not sure he would have fun in the rain anyway. :sad1: *sigh* Oh well. I think it will be a last minute decision on wed. whether or not we go.

It is hard to rely on any of these weather forecasts. Between Weather.com, Accuweather and the lcoal news weather updates, they all say something different!!! Each day it changes, so it is hard to plan. One day, my trip is supposed to be all rain, and then the next day, no rain, and the next day, only random showers here and there! Arrrrgggghhhh.

I keep hearing that rain is supposed to be tapering off on Wednesday and break for a day or two or three, so you may have a chance to go without your DS getting sick all over again! Is that the only day next week that you have to go, or can you find another day somewhere?

Oh, I hope you're right about the tapering rain on wednesday! Of course, we would go in the morning/early afternoon so we might not get any benefit from the taper if the rain isn't supposed to stop until later that day. Unfortunately, wednesday is the only possible day. DS has appointments every day of the week (speech therapy, feeding therapy, etc) and we are down in Orange on wednesdays so we were going to go to DLR after his appointment but then his therapy got cancelled and we thought maybe we would still go over there on Wed. but get an earlier start. I was also going to see if i could sneak another trip in today or tomorrow but I think i better stop procrastinating on getting stuff done for Christmas. I have cards to mail and presents to wrap before we leave to visit family in a week. But we are tagging along with PinkBudgie and her family when they go after new years so we'll get one last look at the decorations before they come down.

I'm from Hawaii, and right now there is a flood watch for the state. I take back what I said -- I don't want it to rain :scared1: !
I was thinking of a few years ago when it rained in DL. It was a light morning sprinkle, the weather had called for heavy rains so I guess it kept the crowds away. It was amazing! We had the park to ourselves and the rain wasn't bad at all. Lets just hope for no rain AND no crowds :thumbsup2 .

Yes, it is amazing how suddenly you can walk right on any rides when there is a little sprinkle! And I could deal with a little sprinkle and not have it be a mess. It is the downpours that really bugged me. BUT, if we can get lucky enough where there is at least just a good threat of rain, that will be enough to keep lots of people away!! It doesn't have to pour on us and soak us to the bone, but if it just looks really gloomy and like it's about to pour, then half the park will empty out!!!:thumbsup2

It looked like that at my house today but I'm an hour away from DLR so I'm not sure if it was the same over there. I was even thinking that it seemed like good DLR weather because there were just a few sprinkles but it looked like it was about to pour any minute. If it was gloomy over there then I wonder if the crowds were low today, even being a Saturday.

It was pretty gray and gloomy all day where I am too (kind of like Bev. Hills/Miracle Mile area). This is a weird day - it's a Saturday, but it feels like a Sunday to me, for some reason. Have no idea why. Maybe the Earth slipped off of its axis or something! Yes, this would have been a great DLR day - nice and cool, just gray and ominous enough to scare everyone away, but not pouring!:thumbsup2

I have decided to stop looking because it keeps changing. Rain one day, showers the next, cloudy with sun again...back to rain. I am packing for chilly rain. Which will be nicer than here. It is currently snowing and blizzardy winds outside, we'll be below freezing until christmas time. So I am excited for nearly 60 degrees even if it comes with warm rain!!! :)

I can tell you that my local news was warning about the storm that's a-comin' this morning ("We're on STORM TRACK," they threaten, or "STORM WATCH"), and saying that we are going to get a few inches of it in just a day or two, starting tonight. I was out walking around today, and the sky couldn't have been any more blue! It was clear and gorgeous outside, BUT it was exactly how I like it - cool! Some would say cold. It was only supposed to reach a high in the upper 50's today - my kind of weather! I hate heat, so I was pleased with the brisk chill in the air, and all the leaves on the ground from yesterday's wind were a nice seasonal touch. It didn't look like storm clouds were anywhere near! The storm must have stalled, in which case it will probably be delayed by a day. Last time I checked, the 19th said no rain, but tomorrow it will probably say rain. I should stop looking too, until Thursday night! It's driving me insane!

The forcast for my area said there's a 70% chance of snow tonight! But I'm also looking outside today thinking the same thing. Blue skies everywhere, so where is this snow going to come from? I don't like the heat either so I'm glad to have this chilly weather. I get so tired of the heat in summer and then we have like 1 week of fall, 4 weeks of winter, 1 week of spring and we're back to the blazing hot summer. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but I swear we only get one week of spring every year.

Yes, and this year summer seemed to drag on and on. 95 degree temperatures in November, even! Who needs that? I like a nice chill in the air, so I was very pleased with today's weather in L.A. It's hot cocoa weather. I just looked out the window a couple of minutes ago and saw some ominous gray clouds rolling in, but I don't know if the rain will start when the forecasters expect it to.

I agree that summer seemed to last forever. I have that thought every year but it was worse this year. I used to live close to the ocean so we got the nice ocean breeze but now being so far inland we just get heat. :headache:

Uh oh, ominous gray clouds. Maybe those are my snow clouds coming! It only snows at my house every couple of years and of course it's never more than a few inches so it's kind of fun but not being used to snow makes it hard to know what to do when it comes. Like, how do i get it off my car and do I really want to drive in it anyway?

That's a good point - if you are not used to snow, how do you know how to deal with it when it comes? (I thought of that a couple of days ago when it snowed in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana. I have a close friend who lives there and I was wondering if he had to use snow tires. I doubt the snow was that plentiful, but it would be enough to make driving conditions hazardous.) One time in the last couple of years it was snowing in Malibu! The snow can't quite make it far enough inland to hit me, sadly, but it hit Malibu - which, as you know, Lavender Peach, being a SoCal resident, is very, very odd!
