I just booked our next WDW trip for June 17 2006. What are the crowds like at this time of year? Thanks!!

Bump. . .
We usually go in late May or late June, so I imagine it's busy (and hot--for me at least.)
But we are going around the same time next year, so I'd like to know also :)

I've been several times in mid-Aug, late Oct, early Nov, Thanksgiving, mid-Dec......by far the worst time was last June. We were there from the 18-26. It was brutally hot/humid, and the crowds were huge. I can deal with one or the other, but not both!! My dh was with us for the first 5 days, then it was just my 11 y/o dd and myself. At one point my dd turned to me, after eating breakfast at CP, and said.."Can we just leave Mom? There are too many people pushing me and it's too hot!!" This was at about 11 a.m.!!
Would I go during June again? Yes, but I would be prepared for the crowds. I would not spend as much time in the parks and more time doing other stuff. This is a time when a lot of people can go rather than mid-Aug when a lot of schools are back in session.
So, be prepared for a lot of people and very hot and sticky weather.

I have to agree with this. This past year mid-June was *very* busy. Perhaps due to the kick-off of the Celebration Du Jour, but still...very busy. I'd have to say it was as bad as I've seen it in mid July.

But crowds are up this year. We were over at Epcot last night to eat at some of the F&W booths and it felt much more crowded this year than it did last year for a weeknight. One tip though, if you plan to hit the booths, do so before 7pm. We did this and the lines were barely there...but after 7pm some of the lines were long, especially in Australia and Morocco (where they serve beef). Of course, this is mainly for during the week. Friday nights and Saturdays the lines can be long most of the day.

thanks for the replies....June crowds are not as bad as spring break are they? I may be re thinking my dates here :sad2:

Summer crowds start building on Memorial Day weekend, reaching their peak July 4 weekend. It seems as though from Memorial Day to July 4 the crowds get bigger each day.

If you are going to go in June and you want to avoid crowds, early June would be a better choice. If that's not possible, just arrive at the parks early, use FastPass, take a mid-day break, and you'll be fine!

We also went this past year, June 21-July 2. The first few days were okay but the closer it came to the holiday weekend the worse it was. The crowds were bad and we also had alot of rain. BUT, we are going back next year in June again because overall it still is the best time for us to go at this point in our family's lives. Our youngest is 15 and I don't want him to miss school. My other two children are past that, one out of college, one in. But I am trying to work out going from June 8-18. Hopefully the crowds will be better and I can get DS permission to miss the last few days of school.
We'll see.
Best of luck!

I've been once in June, we left the Friday before Fathers Day, and it was VERY nice. All our other visits have been during Spring Break (mid March) and it was packed. Unfornuately that was the only time we could go. I will definitely plan our next trip in early June again, it is VERY HOT, make sure you take your mid afternoon pool break.
