Crowds Mid Dec 15-20, 2018

Hmm...trying to figure out when to go....We are from Florida and haven't been back to DL in 5 years. My choices are nov or dec basically since I don't want to travel with an infant any younger than 5 months that far. Plus trying to avoid the opening of Star wars in the first half of 2019.

19-21 was ridiculous this year FWIW. I wished we'd gone any other week this Christmas season but idk if it would have been that much less crowded honestly. My advice: go wherever it fits your schedule best because you aren't going to find an un-packed time to go.

Guys, with all of us and everyone who visits our little corner of the Internet looking to avoid 2019 I'm beginning to wonder if the opening months of SWL are going to be the best time ever to be in parks...

I would go the week after Thanksgiving. This year the Mon-Thursday after Thanksgiving was great with low crowds. Plus you get all the holiday happenings. Win win. Of course, maybe next year more people will go making it more crowded. However I think it is a sweet spot falling after the thanksgiving vacationers have departed and being a little too early for the Christmas vacationers.

I don't think you're really going to find any period in December when there are low crowds in the parks. It's a popular time in DLR, with all of the holiday decorations and entertainment, and other offerings. You might have better luck in November, but again, it's hard to say if this year is a good predictor of next year. However, if you go to early in November, the holiday season won't have started so there might be attractions closed, limited entertainment, etc.

All that being said, I agree with gottalovepluto, go whenever it fits best with your schedule. Expect and prepare for crowds and if you happen to get lucky and be there at a time with less crowds, take it as pixie dust!
