I am going to disney world in 16 days!!!!!

I was wondering if the crowds will be bad that week or will the be in the moderate levels???

I have heard mixed reviews..I have a 4 y/o daughter and is sooooo looking forward to it. Yet I am scared that the crowds might ruin our time there....

keeping my fingers crossed:bounce: :bounce:

thanks!

I have been numerous times the first couple weeks of May. The park designated for Magic Morning is usually more crowded but the other parks have been quite easy to handle. We have only had to wai for Splash Mountain a couple times for about 40 minutes but that was mid day on Magic Morning. This was before Fastpass was introduced. Epcot is usually a breeze. The Studios is also pretty easy except you have to wait for some of the shows. The Animal Kingdom has been really easy, particularly if you get there first thing in the morning and get a lot done. The Magic Kindgom is usually the most busy though we haven't had to wait long there either BUT it is much more busy on Magic Morning Days and Saturdays are extremely busy. If the Fireworks and Spectro Magic Parade are only scheduled on Saturday, the MK will be crazy from early afternoon until close.

Our trip will be during the same time next year (1st week of May), and I'm wondering about the Grad nites? How will that affect us? We won't be at PI or anything like that, mainly I'm thinking of the parks?

Thanks!

Steph--determined to plan this without DH help, only his wallet

Crowds won't be bad at all....as stated Saturday Spectro nights will be pretty crazy...try and catch it during the week if you can.

They had Grad Nites when we were there last week...didn't notice much difference...lots of teens at the hotel (CBR), MK closed around 8 which is nothing odd for that time of year. I've never done PI so not sure what went out w/that. I'm too wiped from walking all day to go party at night.

Crowds shouldn't be too bad. We went end of April into May last year. Everything went fine and we are going same time this year. The only affect of Grad nights will probably be limited showing of Wishes and Spectro.:(

One year in May they had a Grad night at the MK and the park closed at 8:00. They had the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks scheduled for 8:00 and it wasn't quite dark yet!!! We watched them from the top of the Contemporary. I have'nt had Grad night affect any of our other tirps.

It wasn't bad last May (first week). Magic Kingdom was crowded on the Tuesday we went but I think it was a spectro night. Otherwise it was nice.:D

I really do hope that crowds will be moderate-low as we will be there during the same time too. :teeth: I am kinda wondering if this May will be busier than in past years though. After reading posts about how much busier this year has been over past years and how many more people seem to be travelling this year, I have to say I am a little concerned. I'm still very excited (our very first trip to WDW) and I know we'll have a great time though.

I'm curious to hear from those who have returned recently from WDW and how it compared to previous years.

Aloha All! :earsgirl:

We have gone several times during this week. We are even doing it this year again. The only grad nights during this week are 5/1. So just avoid the MK area toward the end of the day- traffic gets pretty heavy around there. And as I recall, there are preparties around the area too. On the plus side, there will be Cinco de Mayo celebrations at Downtown Disney on 4/30, 5/1 & 5/5. Have a great trip everybody!
