I've been lurking around the boards for awhile now, trying to soak in all the information. However, knowing me I probably missed out on a lot. So I just had a quick question. I'm planning for a trip for next May, (Down to 10 months now! :thumbsup2 ) but i'm curious as to how crowds will be then.

Our projected dates for the trip are either May 13th to the 16th. Or May 20th to the 23rd. I've only been to the Darkside once, and that was mid August and crowds were pretty brutal and the trip was a complete failure (For reasons unrelated to the park, because the park itself is truly awesome :offtopic: )

Either way, for those who generally go all the time and are familiar with how crowds are, which dates are better crowd wise?

should be fine either dates.

both include a friday.
you will see school groups on a field trip in the parks on fridays.

If you are leaving on May 16th, you should fine but if you planning to go to the park on the 16th, keep in mind that Gradventure 2014 is on 5/16/14. That means both parks will close early and you'll see lots of kids running around throughout the parks and CityWalk before the hard ticket event. If you chose the 20-23 of May, there are no special events planned...that we know of right now.

Hi Metro West I was wondering if you could enlighten me a little more on the Gradventure thing. We will be in Universal from May 8 - 11 2014 & I noticed this event is on on May 9. Will it only be this day that we will feel over-run with kids? Unfortunately we cannot change our dates so we are stuck with this event in our itinerary. We will be staying onsite so hopefully that will prevent it being too much of an issue for us.

Do you think we could just leave te park when it closes to us folk then go to dinner in Citywalk? Will the school groups attend early entry the next day on the 10th?

Sorry for all the questions. We are coming a long way and I want to make sure we can optimise our time :-)
