crowds in May

Thinking about adding a trip the first week in May. Anybody have any experience with the crowds? Thanks!

We usually go then for F&G show, and I've never noticed large crowds. We begin our stay on April 30th, in '08. It also was possible to move ressies from one resort to another at the 7 month mark, so it's not a heavy time for DVC either. We used to move from BWV to BCV, but now we have BCV points, so didn't have to move the ressie

Any time when school is in session is nice. It does rain more than usual in May though, so just be prepared...

we've been waitlisted for one night of our may 3-9 stay (may 4th-BWV studio BW view) for 2 loooong months so far. all the BWV studios are gone for that night now, so i guess it's still a bit crowded, just not summer-type packed

we really, REALLY hoping that the waitlist comes thru ~ we've been spoiled by the BW!!

We are waitlisted for a studio first week of May @ BCV since the 7 month mark Ohhhh well, guess I can live with AKV if I must

We will also be there May 4-9 2008. Staying @ AK booked 7 month window. This will be our 3rd May trip, and we love it! Crowds have been low, weather as stated sometimes rainy, but usually great pool weather low to mid 80's. Happy & Safe Holidays to all... Think Spring!!

We've been going the first two weeks of May for quite some time now. As long as you stick to one of these weeks you should avoid most the crowds and rain. We've only had rain about 5 or 6 times in the last 7 or 8 years. When we went the first week this last trip it only rained one afternoon for a couple hours. The year before we had no rain at all. Once you get to the third week the crowds and rain increase a bit. But it's still not bad until closer to Memorial Day weekend. From the fourth week on into the summer you will find the crowds and the rain increase quite a bit. We love going the first two weeks of May. The temps are in the mid to upper 80's, plenty of sunshine, and the crowds are not bad at all.

We went the second week of May this year and found everything to be great. A little hotter than I assumed it would have been, but fairly low crowd levels (didn't notice much of a difference between May and September this year). I'd definitely do May again, but might try the last week of April to get a little bit cooler weather.
