Am looking at the March 9-16 week. Is it crowded? Is that US Spring Break too?

How long is the drive.

Thanks,

You can check a thread on the "Theme park attractions and strategies" section called "When is your Spring Break 2002?" Seems like some have spring break the week you're going, but most U.S. schools are staggered through March & April. Peak break seems to be around Easter. Hope this helps.

We went last March Break and are going again this year. I personally didn't find the crowds too bad last year, but I knew what I wanted to see and used Fastpass.

We take two stops on the way down, leaving Friday after DH gets home from work and stopping in Ohio (usually Findlay or Lima) and then stop again just below Macon, Georgia. We arrive in Orlando mid-afternoon. We don't hurry down so we're not exhausted when we arrive but on the return we usually just do one stop in Knoxville, Tenn as we are well rested--at least DH is because he just plays golf!

Been there, done that.

We live in the Niagara Penn. Have been down in March break before. The route that we usually take is
QEW to Peace bridge
190 to the I-90
I-90 to 271 (around Cleveland)
271 to I-71
I-71 to 270(West around Columbus)
270 to I-71
I-71 to 275(East around Cincinnati)
275 to I-71/75
I-71/75 to I-75
I75 to I-75/640(West around Knoxville)
I-75/640 to I-75/40
I-75/40 to I-45
I-75 to 285(West around Atlanta)
285 to I-75
I-75 to 475(West around Macon)
475 to I-75
I-75 to Florida's Turnpike (follow the signs to WDW)
Florida's Turnpike to I-4(South)

This we usually drive in two days.
1st day - home to between Corbin KY. to Knoxville TN.
2nd day - to between Ocala FL. to Orlando FL.
3rd day get up and be a WDW by 9:00am.

Any question just ask.

Enjoy yourself.:smooth:

emmalgin, we live in Woodstock. We drive down the 401 and cross at Detroit and take the I-75 all the way down. It's about 2 twelve~hour days, including breaks, if we just have the one stop~over in Knoxville. I forgot to mention that if we leave on the Friday night and take two stop~overs on the way down, we usually arrive in Orlando after lunch on the Sunday.

I suggest you buy Dave Hunter's "Along the I-75" it is EXCELLENT, showing what Food and Lodging is at all the exits, Reststops, bypass routes around the big cities and alternate routes if you run into traffic problems.

Depending on where you are staying in Orlando, you also might want to consider taking the I-4 only until the Hwy. 27 S exit and then getting on Hwy. 192. We have been getting off here the past couple of times and taking the "back" way to WDW. We like to stop at a new Publix grocery store to stock up, located at King's Ridge, in Clermont on Hwy 27, just before you turn onto 192. DH likes the break from Interstate driving. :)
