Is there any time of the year at all, that the MK park is not so crowded? The last 3 years I've been during the off-season, the other parks were fairly slow but MK was still crowded. We were there Jan. 8th thru 13th (went to MK on Thurs. Jan. 12th/ a weekday) and MK was still crowded!! -- even though the other parks really weren't that week!! Is it just hopeless to ever get a light crowd in MK these days?

I read somewhere that MK is crowded on any day that ends with a "Y". Seriously though, Thursday is considered a busy day at MK as that is often an EMH day. The best way to avoid crowds is to arrive early.

Agreed...only chance for "not so crowded" is to get there really early.

I've found that if you can get the morning EMH and can get your kids up, it works out great.

They get tired earlier and go to bed earlier, making the next day that much easier :D

Last week we went to MK on 3 separate days...and we were there at park opening all three days and left around noon. We noticed a significant increase in the crowd size as it got closer to noon. I don't think I'd ever not get there at opening. (We did go back at night for Wishes and Spectromagic on different nights, but we only went as far as the beginning of Main Street and then left immediately after.

You asked if there is any time of the year when the Magic Kingdom is not crowded. December may be the best time to enjoy the park, in fact, all the parks. We spent the third week at WDW, December 12 - 16, staying at Port Orleans, French Quarter, and visited three of the parks, not electing to see the Animal Kingdom this trip. Most attractions at the Magic Kingdom were walk ons. For example, we experienced Buzz Lightyear at about 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, and there was no line whatsoever.

Perfect weather, no crowds, and all the Christmas decorations up everywhere. It did rain late on Thursday evening, following the final performance of the Christmas Processional, but that was no problem for us.

Go in December, any days before Christmas week itself.

I dont believe there is any way of accurately predicting the crowds at Magic Kingdom. Its the most popular theme park in the world. Any given day can have 90 minute waits. That being said we have been 4 times in early December and 3 out of the 4 the waits have been no more that 20 minutes. But one time it was up to 60 minutes but that was a Spectromagic night. If you can go during that time avoid any special event, parade, performance day and you should, I stress should be ok. Go when you can and just have fun, there is more to Disney than rides and shows its the atmosphere of just being there that took me 4 trips to realize.

We were there at the end of September, 2005. MK was really uncrowded several days. But...the beginning of October really changed...it was like overnight the crowds just appeared out of nowhere. But MK was very quiet...we got to ride Splash Mountain, Space Mountain several times with no wait. We had several restaurants practically to ourselves. And we did NOT get there early, either. If it wasn't for the heat, I'd jump at the chance to go at that time again.

yes there actually is...we went for my 16th birthday which was in september. we held off until december though to go.we went on everything at MK in under 10 minutes except for peter pans flight which took 15 for some odd reason :confused3 . we even got to park hop to EPCOT and walk around there :cool1: . then park hopped back to MK for more rides. we hardly waited in any lines!
