Crowds in January

I have already booked 7 nights at Pop Century for Jan 6th-13th. We were thinking about upgrading to a moderate so I was just checking to see the price difference on the WDW website. NOTHING is avalible except dexluxes (but no standard rooms) for that time frame. I know the 6th and 7th is the marathon, but I was really hoping this would be a quiet time. I am not so much worried about the upgrade, we have stayed at Pop Century and enjoyed it, now I am just worried about the crowds!

Did you check for the 8-13th? I would guess some rooms would open up after the marathon is over.

The marathon's the 7th and Martin Luther King weekend is the following weekend. That may be why you're having problems with the booking. Both marathon and MLK weekend can be pretty crowded, although the marathoners don't affect park attendance as much as the MLK weekenders.

Because of these 2 events, we decided to move our trip to the 21st, when the place will no doubt be much less crowded, which is how we like it.
