hi everyone..this will be my first time going in january..was just wondering about the crowds...thanks :)

We just had a fabulous trip Jan. 9-18th. Crowds? Absolutely none. We walked on every single popular ride you can think of, and stayed on more than once. This happened all week. You can't pick a better time to go.

Jen!

I promise you that it will be hard to go any other time of the year after you have been at this time. I love it for a reason. Noooo crowds. Kids are gone and the weather is gorgeous!!!

NO Crowds we never waited in one line!! We could ride the same ride over and over without getting off. I'm going back in Sept and I'm afraid we won't be spoiled this time!

We went this past January and it was great. The weather can be cool in the early mornings and late evenings but other than that it was very comfortable. The crowds were light except for MLK Day but even then it was bearable. Ran into afternoon showers while we were at MK, put the ponchos on the kids and we rode Goofy's rollercoaster three times in a row without getting off. We will going again Jan 2005 and can't wait.

Going 6-11 January. I heard there will be marathon in January 2005. Will it be busy then? Anyone been to WDW in previous years while there was a marathon?

Thanks for asking this question. We will be there in Jan for the 1st time 7th-15th. We had heard the crowds were lite but hadnt heard there were no lines. We typically go in Dec or Oct. DW will be doing the marathon. She says some fellow DISers tell her the crowds are down even during the marathon.

We were there last January around this time for the marathon weekend through the following Wednesday. It was truly LOW, low crowds. My husband was so completely shocked that he went around Fantasyland the last morning we were in MK taking pictures of empty walkways...( not just walkways....fantasyland was wide open. No people in sight! ) and this was at 10:00 in the morning. I look back at the pictures and I am still amazed! However...it was cold. We were in jeans and coats the whole weekend. I'll take that trade-off again, though!

the marathon...no worries. We were there this year and it was fun to see all the runners, especially afterward in the jacuzzi at SAB, they were all saying how sore they were! Anyway, we went to AK on the day of the marathon, it was fun to see them all running by, but in no way did it impact the crowds. Then that night, you'd see the runners in the parks with their golden Mickey's (?I think thats what they were) hanging around their necks. It was wonderful, the entire week. The rides, walkons, over and over again. Awesome time to go!

It's a mute point after all these posts, but we were there in January during the Marathon, as well. Wonderful time!! The weather can be downright cold in the mornings and at night(although I am always cold, it seems) but it isn't like our winters up here in NY, though. We would warm ourselves with the thought that it was colder at home than at WDW. Enjoy having the parks practically to yourselves!

We're going January 9-15... so this is great news! I've always gone in October, which has been okay but not dead. Went on Spring Break once in college... that was a mistake. It was packed =P
