We are planning our first trip to BCV Feb. 7-14 can anyone tell me what to expect for crowds at this time of year? Also, any suggestions for things not to miss and places to eat while there would be most appreciated, THANKS!!!!!

At the end of your trip you will find more crowds than at the beginning because you get into Presidents' Day weekend. The crowds will build as the week goes on.

If you like sea food, the Cape May Cafe at the BC is great. It's also nice to be able to walk over to the Boardwalk and enjoy all of the restaurants and night life over there.

We have been to WDW many times in late January/early February. Great time to go - crowds are usually small. But watch when President's Day hits - the crowds definitely increase for the holiday!

Only disadvantage to going this time of year is some rides are shut down for maintenance, and the fireworks and parades are often on weekends only.

Last time we were there, we ate at Narcootchees (spelling?) over by the Grand Floridian - it was great, and we could see the MK fireworks while we ate dessert!

We'll be taking our first trip home to BCV the first week of Feb.

Have a great time!!!

... and loved it every time!! The crowds have been minimal at all the parks (especially mid-week) and the weather was pleasant (mostly 70s and sunny). Since you'll be there for part of President's Day weekend, I'd recommend visiting the parks early in the week so that you avoid the larger crowds of the weekend... You'll have a great time, I'm sure!

As far as not-to-miss restaurants are concerned, I'd recommend California Grill at the top of the Contemporary. Although it's a hike from BCV, it's worth it for the fabulous cuisine and spectacular views of Cinderella's Castle and the fireworks at Epcot. It's my very favorite restaurant at WDW. As far as restaurants that would be closer to BCV, I'd recommend Palio (at the Swan) for fantastic Italian food, nice atmosphere and not outrageous prices. I also really enjoy Le Cellier at Epcot (in the England section of WS). It's great for lunch or dinner. I've also been to Flying Fish and Yachtsman's Steakhouse, but I couldn't really recommend those as I thought they were overpriced and pretty average cuisine- and service-wise... If you need more recommendations, feel free to ask!

Happy planning,
Sarah

I went down there every Prisident's Week for years. It is very busy. The beginning of your vacation may not be too crowded but by the end you will see the mobs. Just enjoy the nice weather and get in the attractions early in your vacation. President's week is about the third or fourth most crowded week down there right behind Christmas, Easter, and the 4th of July. Next time go a week earlier you will find it is like night and day as far as the crowds are concerned.
