Crowds in April 2006

I am contemplating a trip to Disney during Spring Break...boy does this go against my better judgement! My dd is almost 5 and we have gone to Disney at least 2-3 times a year since she was born. In September she will be starting Kindergarten and because I will be taking her out of school for a trip in December I really don't want to do it again in May. So how bad are the crowds the week after Easter? We are used to the low attendance in early December and early May!

As you can tell in my signature, we go in April after Easter and when spring breaks are done.

Crowds are very managable and the weather is just perfect. I can't bring myself to book any other time of year actually.

The period from Good Friday to the Sunday after Easter is Spring Break for many schools in Ohio and Michigan, so it can be pretty crowded then. It starts off crowded and tapers off as the week goes on. We go then and still have a wonderful time!

The key is planning way ahead and getting to the parks early. Make as many ressies as you can, and take in some shows and shopping when the crowds get big. Also, enjoy the Easter characters and egghunts offered at many resorts. The special Easter menus are nice, too! We do Epcot on Easter and have enjoyed very small crowds there for the last 3 years.

April 2006 (third week) is our spring break. Next year however, Easter is also the same week. I think it was 2002 that this also occured. It was really hot and really crowded. But who knows?

We own DVC and the points for this time period next year uses mega points , so we won't be going.

I am a teacher and, obviously, I can't just take off whenever I want for a week's trip! (I tried...hahaha...no seriously, I'm just kiddding! ) My family and I went a few times during the spring break season and this year I decided that my friend and I would go during spring break. We left March 30 and got back April 4. We had an awesome time and never had a problem at the parks. If you have any other questions, please PM me!

We are going in April 06! We'll be there for Easter . . .(we went Easter week 2000).

It'll be crowded, but there are ways around the crowds . . .the weather is awesome too!
