Crowds, Heat, Rain, and Lovebugs-Only 5 days to go and how are the conditions?

Hello all
For those of you that feel a need for up to the minute crowd conditions and Orlando weather forecasts. I would suggest purchasing the way cool Iphone.
It not only has a weather feature that you can program in for any city in the country, But numerous Apps you can purchase including Wait times. WDW dining that includes menus and pricing and park maps. I just got mine and it is terrific.

Leaving in 28 days :banana::yay::woohoo::cheer2::cool1::thumbsup2

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. I love any and all current conditions at the world as we are leaving in 10 days. Hope everyone has a great trip and hope the crowds hold off until after October 2nd.

today no rain at all!!!! very low line waits @ Epcot even Soarin was a 30 min and fast passes had you come back in just an hour and test track was basically a walk on even though it said 10 min wait. The restaurants are full (to be expected though) they are turning away walk in's completely.

and to a prev poster... I am not sure if I would believe the real feel temps till you are here... looking at my 10 days said tomorrow was gonna be a real feel temp of 110 at one point... (I doubt it) though it is def hot!

and still no love bugs!

and for anyone who has been here... the other day Peterpan had just a 20 min wait!!! unheard of!!! I have always seen a heavy line volume but this vacation has been an even more pleasant surprise!

I'm just hoping that it's sunny for the most part. We'll be -30°F here in the Great White North before we know it.

Leaving on Monday and I love to be up to date on the conditions, especially the love bugs! Thanks for posting, keep it comming!:cool1:

Hi, I'm currently here now, been here since the weekend. Weather is not as oppressive as other Septembers, though still hot and occasional shower, not bad though, have had plenty of pool time.

Mostly walk ons for the rides, only wait so far was TSM about 15 minutes around 10 am yesterday and still had FP's with return times of 11:45. I used a FP only once (for Soarin one morning, but was a walk on later that day)

Not one sign of a love bug. I was here in 2006 with them and while they don't bite can be very annoying.

If interested I have a live trip report going in the trip report section, including a review of MNSSHP.

Enjoy all your trips!

and Soarin today @ 11 was a walk on... never ever saw that before! I mean there are people here but but its not crazy... and again today no rain... and I agree with prev poster... not oppresive like in Septembers past .
September 2007 was so hot and muggy it could take your breath away... but this week has not been bad at all!

Oh SO EXCITED We leave in 6 days! Thank you all for the updates and to the OP for posting this thread. Sure seems to me that there are quiet a few people interested in this thread...:confused3

I know what ya mean, hey. Take off, ya hosehead.

Sorry, I love Bob and Doug McKenzie and I couldn't resist with the GWN comment. We get the same accent teasing here in Wisconsin and the cold weather too, but I guess we are more the frozen tundra than the GWN.

Why do some people feel the need to Kanye West a thread?
I have no idea.

How many threads do I want to see about current park conditions?
As many as possible. We leave Sturday.

Thanks for the updates DISers. Keep them coming.
:thumbsup2

Ditto. I like having the constant call for reports on the current status. Especially when specific questions are added like the love bug issue.

I think the purpose of this board is for people to ask questions and share information, not be timid about asking a question because too many (who would determine how much is too many?) people have asked something similar.

I go in about 10 days and I'm reading the entire thread for info.
On the dining page there are threads every day asking what CS is best in DTD. Doesn't bother me a bit. Each time, there is a new person posting about some dish they ate or a CM who was special when they were there.
Just keeps the info flowing. It's the purpose of the board.

Now I'm going back to reading all of these posts and catching up.:surfweb:

I am also glad you posted OP! It is time consuming to try to read every post and TR to try to pull out specific info. It is great to have it all together here. We leave tomorrow!!! :cheer2: From just this thread, there is a ton of us dissers going next week. Hopefully that's not indicative of overall crowds!!

I'm so sorry that I started this thread. This is the reason why I usually just lurk around message boards and I don't post. I just asked simple questions and I get my head chewed off. I guess it's not right that I'm excited to go on my trip. I have to hunt and peck thru hundreds of posts, and with the board loading so slowly for me off and on, it's hard to read sometimes. I got such lag sometimes. I wish that people would have some civility and would treat others with respect. This always seems to happen to me, I post a question and people jump all over me.

Thanks for anyone who had read this thread and posted support. I am almost ready to not read anymore or post anything else. I was really worried about the lovebugs, I know they are harmless and annoying but we had them the last time we went in Sept. and I wanted to know if I was in the clear this year as to missing them.

Also, I just wanted to know if there were afternoon thunderstorms. I'm from the West Coast and I'm not used to high humidity and thunderstorms. I have a really lightening phobia. Just hearing a thunderstorm has me crawled up in bed shaking. I guess I'm just a wimp about it. But I was worried, as we wanted to take the Sea Racyers out for a spin around the lake and I didn't want to get caught in anything unpleasant.

Thanks again for those of you kind folks who are supportive.

I'm off to try to get the magic back in my trip planning.

Dont' worry about lightening at Disney. They are in constant contact with a weather service and track all lightening. If you are out in boats, 1. you will know it's going to rain. FL tends to get dark and muggy and you have a bit of a warning. 2. They will call you in if lightening is in the area. Keep in mind they are constantly monitoring and will shut down all water rides, pools, and water parks, the balloon at DTD, and anything else that would pose any danger with lightening.
Don't worry. You are very safe with lightening at Disney!

Gotta love the McKenzie brothers! I haven't seen that show in YEARS! DW gets after me when we're on vacation because I start saying "eh" a lot more.

"Thanks, eh!"
"Take 'er easy, eh"
"Thanks a bunch, eh"

Fair warning to all of you going between 9/24 and 10/3! If you hear a guy using "eh" too much getting berrated by DW help a canuck out and gimme a shot of maple syrup eh?

5 more days for us! Can't wait!!!

I'll be there then too. I won't buy you some Maple syrup, but I'll buy you a beer (hopefully without a mouse in it EH?)

Here is a funny typo for next weeks weather. Good luck to all of us there next Thursday.
