Crowds for Super Bowl Sunday and following?

Plan to arrive Sunday Feb 6th. Just realzing that that is Super Bowl Sunday and that the game is being played in Jacksonville, FL.

Think the crowds will pick up the following week due to Super Bowl game travellers taking in a few days of Disney as part of their trip?

I think the last Super Bowl played in the surrounding area was 2001 and in Tampa, if anyone can recall the crowd for that.

Hi bblanch - welcome to the DIS ! I don't know the answer to your question, but I'll be flying out of MCO on the 6th - wonder if the airport will be empty ??! DH and DS will be at home watching the game - they're flying home earlier that week - smart men !

A few years ago we were at WDW while the superbowl was in Orlando - we had no clue it was Superbowl weekend or that it was in Orlando! (We only had one thing on our mind and that was Disney)

The parks were not crowded whatsoever

Have a great time - it is a great time to be in WDW - just remember to be prepared for all sorts of weather - frost - 85 degrees!

I don't believe the Superbowl has ever been in Orlando. They do not have an NFL team there. FYI

We were in Epcot once years ago on Super Bowl Sunday. The Super Bowl was in Tampa that year and Epcot was completely empty. It was great!

ITA with the above posters. I was in MK and Epcot in 2001, just a couple of days following the Super Bowl in Tampa. No crowds at all. It did rain alot though, which I think is pretty common in early February.

We were in universal & islands on super bowl sun in 2001 walked on all the rides with no wait . The rest of the week was also good.
