I will be heading down to WDW from May 9 to the 12. What are the crowds normaly like for that time period and if I were to get one of the pins that say it's my birthday, what can I expect?

The big 50th celebration starts May 5th and crowds are expected to be big. I hope they slow down by the 15 when we arrive but that first week, watch out. As for your second question, sorry I can't help you there...smjj

As for your Bday pin, you can expect a little extra attention--it really depends on the CMs you meet. It was fun for my DS last year, but nothing super spectacular happened. Restaurants tend to give you a surprise, though.

I agree that the 50th anniversary of DisneyLAND is going to have little impact on WDW. The most you can expect is a bump in attendance the 4-6th because of the media and their familes.

Hope everybody is correct. I was basing my earlier comments on crowds on comments I have seen here and elsewhere in earlier posts. We will be there the 15th thru the 22nd and expect the growds to return to normal by then. I do expect the growds the week of the celebration to be quite high. I know they are planning several events that one week. Here in Indy, we are seeing commercials about this celebration all over the tube...smjj
