we will be arriving at WDW on September 2. For those that have been there the first week of September, what are the crowds/wait times like. Tomorrow is the day to make FP.

I'm no expert on travel times, but I did go the first week in September in 2014. I picked that time because I have a son with autism and he does not manage well in large crowds. I found the crowds to be just right that time of year. Not too many but not empty. My kids were able to ride splash mountain 4 times in one day. Wait times were not bad. Hope that helps.

crowds drop off after Labor Day since all schools will be in session. It is usually slow-ish on LD weekend, then really slow after LD. Beginning of Sept is one of the lower crowd times, but like every time-frame, is getting busier each year.

Most of our trips have been the week before and after Labor Day. The week after Labor Day is significantly less crowded than the week before Labor Day. While I understand from other posters that compared to other holidays, Labor Day weekend is slow, my experience is that it IS NOT SLOW when compared to the days before and after that weekend. There is a noticeable crowd difference on that weekend compared to the days before and after. For example, I waited 50 minutes for the Nemo ride in Epcot on Sunday of Labor weekend at 11am last year, and no, there wasn't a ride malfunction.

Since you are arriving on the weekend, be prepared for the a moderate crowd on the weekend, but the rest of the week is quite pleasant as far as crowds are concerned.

Also, be prepared for rain. Our 2015 trip was almost rain free. But our 2016 was rain filled -- not just pop-up thunderstorms, but rainy days, hours of rain. The rain chases the crowds away though, so it can be a good thing.

We were there that exact time last year and it was slow but there had also been major storms the week prior. Pretty comparable to our January trips. 10-15 minutes for Lesser attractions 45-60 for popular like Splash, Soarin and 90 for the longest lines 7DMT

We are also arriving on September 2nd and last year we went Sept 3-10th and it was just amazing, as far as crowds go. The holiday weekend was a little busier of course, but after Labor Day, the crowds disappeared! Even the pool at our resort (Stormalong Bay) was practically empty after Labor Day. It was awesome! We loved it so much, we quickly decided we were going back the same week this year.
