Crowds during marathon

Hi.

We're taking a quick trip Jan 5-8 (Thurs - Sun). I think this is during the marathon. Can anyone comment on crowds in the parks during that time? Any suggestions on which days to avoid certain parks related to the marathon schedule? Any overall advise other than "get there early" would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The crowd level does pick up during the Marathon but it is nothing unbearable. Definately, nothing like summer or other considered busy times. The only real issue we have ever run into due to the Marathon is that it is extremely hard to get to one place or the next by car. So, travel on those days can be rather tricky. We also look at the Marathon schedule and see when the participants are going to be where at what time. That way we know where to head and not to head. I actually love going this time of year and love seeing all the participants. It's great! Have a good time.

Hope the above link works for you. We too will be in the parks that weekend, using Disney transportation. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for quick travel times. We are planning on being in Epcot on Sat. The maraton ends there, do you think this will increase Epcot attendance? Our plan for Sun. is MK. Maybe will will take the bus to Epcot and hop on the monorail.
