Crowds during Gay Week

Hello--we are not a gay family, but are completely comfortable and accepting of gay people. We are planning a family trip and it looks like the first week in June 09 will be what will work out for everyone. I understand that it is gay week----if that is correct are there any other nongay families there as well and what are the crowds like that week. Thanks for your help.

Crowds are normally pretty standard for the summer, busy but not insane. MK on Saturday can get crowded, but last year I think the longest line we waited in was maybe 30 minutes (Knox may remember better).

You can always get the gay day schedule and go to the opposite parks to avoid the crowds too. Mind you I am telling you this to help you avoid traffic, not gay people! It can be a great week for people watching also! Some of the T-shirts are hysterical!

Honestly? I find the parks to be somewhat less crowded that particular week. Seems as though we have the place nearly all to ourselves! I LOVE IT!

Short lines, usually pretty good weather (but it can be surprisingly hot, too) and TONS of happy CMs!

I get more hellos, smiles, offers for help, wishes for a great day, so on and so forth that week than any other time of the year.

My favorite week.

The first Saturday in June is gay day at the Magic Kingdom, so the week before can fall in May or June, just depends on how the week falls. Looks like June 3-9th this year.

Thanks so much---one last question how do i get a schedule of events for that week--2009. Does that come from the park are through this site. I am so excited---i cant wait to see all the shirts... I will have to come up with some good straight shirts!!!!!

Absolutely!

We go with several straight friends every year. One of them does a custom shirt every year. This year her shirt said "A Princess Among Queens". She got LOTS of compliments on it.
