Hi looking at going to Universal 1st & 2nd sept and just wanted to know whether we need to stay on site for fotl :confused3 we are having 14 nights at Disney & would be paying for 2 hotels so dont really want to do this if its not really nessesary. Any ideas how long the wait would be for the big rides? I have looked at the crowd calander for Disney but cant find anything for Universal & other advice seems to say Sep is a good time to visit but later in the month.

The crowds shouldn't be too bad and since you're staying away from Labor Day weekend, the waits should be minimal. You would not need to stay onsite for unlimited Express access during this time of year.

i have gone to the darkside in september and always found it to be very light crowds.
if you stay away from the weekends to visit the park, it will be even lighter for you.

if you decide to stay onsite in september, the hotel rates are lower.
it is considered low season up to the first few days of october.

you could easily do the parks without staying on site in that month.
