Crowds Aug 08??

Hey out there, can anyone tell me what the crowds are like in late august? I am thinking of planning for that time just cause I don't want to take my daughter out of school, but if crowds are terrible would consider mid September. Tell me is late august managable?

We went this past August 12-18 and the crowds were great! The wait times were not bad. I think the longest wait was 80 minutes and that is only because BTMRR was down and we were not aware of it while in line. Other than that we did so much and a lot of ride times were anywhere from 10-30 minute waits and the lines always seemed to move faster than posted. Pirates was one of them- their posted wait time was never what it said- it alwasy moved so fast! The heat is what got to us- it took a couple days to adjust to it.

we went last aug, the 2nd week and it was insane and was hotter than the gates of you know where. I never ever will go in Aug again. And I have been before in Aug and never remember it being that bad. I think if the heat had not been so crippling the waits would not have seemed so bad but I swear i sweat off about 10lbs that week. If you can figure another time other than july or august i would try. I would do sept like you mentioned, if your concern is about missing school its better to take a vaca early in the school year than mid stream. good luck!

We usually go at the end of August. It is hot but it is also not nearly as crowded as the rest of the summer. Just alternate an inside ride/meal/inside show/shop with an outside ride/show and you will be fine. The discounts make up for the heat in my mind.

We go every August and it used to be that the crowds were light towards the end, but since the introduction of free dining (which starts in the middle of August for visitors from the UK) there has been a big increase in numbers so it's no where near a quiet as it used to be.

I have to agree, it's usually hot but we we found last August to be unbearably so
