Crowds/Attendance during Late August and Early September?

HI.
I was wondering how the crowds will be during the last week of August (25th through 29th) and over Labor Day Weekend and during the first week of September. I know that Passholders (except Premium) are blocked out on Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31). I know the Marathon and 5K take place on Sunday Aug. 31 and on Labor Day Sept. 1. I am just wondering how the crowds will be since the summer attendance seems to be below normal so far. Will most schools be back in session? Any ideas?

We are going to be there as well from Aug 23- Sept 6th. I hope by the Tuesday after Labour Day the park will be quiet with schools starting back up. Unless more people are going to be bad parents like me and have their kids miss the first week of school

We are also going to be there 29Aug - 4 Sep, we were planning on doing mainly DCA on Sat/Sun as I expect DL will be very busy. I am hoping things settle down a bit on Monday as people head home and then by Tue/Wed it will be relatively quiet.

Am I being too hopeful?

Most schools will be back in session by that time. I think it will be a nice time to go. It sounds like crowds in general have dropped off. A lot of people are avoiding normally "peak" times, and you're seeing less in the parks. Part of it is probably the higher cost of fuel. I would rather go when you're going than in October. I have a feeling it will be nice (w/ maybe the exception of Labor day.)

Well I was there last year on September 11 and 12 and the crowds were very light. The longest line I waited for was for Nemo and that was 45 minutes, so don't expect large crowds after labor day.

We were there last year over labor day weekend and it wasn't that crowded...but it was insanely hot outside.

I was thinking about it. I think that because summer attendance has been below normal that crowds will be lower than normal for late August and early September. SoCal passholders are blocked on Sat. Aug 30 and Sunday Aug. 31.
