Does anyone know how big the crowds are to see the concerts at the American Gardens Theatre during the Flower & Garden Festival? We will be there for Memorial Day Weekend and would like to see "The Rascals", but don't want to wait 2 hours in line. Is it do-able or should we forget it?

Thanks !!

I would think you should still be able to grab a seat. If your a AP holder, they have a special seating section. I think all you have to do is go to customer relations that day and request a show time. If it's that crowded, listen just off the side of the theatre or by the outdoor seating by the american adventure. It's usually a pretty lould concert, so hearing from a little ways away should pose no problem. We were able to hear pretty good from the gondola area by Italy.

I've been to several of them so far and only once was it crowded enough that we sat on the wall that runs alongside the theater on the right side.

That sounds great - I had no idea AP holders had a special section. We'll definately take advantage of that. Could you tell me where "Customer Relations" is? Do you mean the bldg to the left of Spaceship Earth when you enter Epcot?

There was really not much of a crowd when we went there while the Flower and Garden festival was in sesssion. If you want good seats then I would suggest going 30 min. before hand to see the Brittish In. in Epcot. When we went to go see the Davy Jones concert we went 10 or so min. earlier and still got pretty good seats.

Yes, that would be Guest Relations. If you don't have an AP for the special seating I would try to get to the early show. On the nights we were there it seemed the least busy. Maybe locals who go to most of the shows would have an opinion on that. We saw Davy Jones, the Nelsons, & B.J.Thomas in April--all we really good!

The special seating is good to know.
We have AP's and have been to three of te concerts -- and wll be leaving soon for another. :)
There is a roped off area that guests have to show valid wristbands to enter. I thought it was a package perk. But never asked either.
The first concert of the evening, guests stand in line to enter. But the seating has been plentiful.
Unless you have a large group, I would not be too concerned.
We have always sat right behind the reserved/handicap seating, arriving 30-45 minutes before the show.

Our experience last night --
We went for the last concert -- Paul Revere and the Raiders.
We arrived at Epcot around 7:30.
We were at least the third party in line at Guest Services being told the AP viewing area was *sold out*. (Seems they should just place a sign out front if one party after another is coming and asking and being turned away. )
We walked over the Friendship boats. We had just missed one. Waited for the other, along with several other guests.
We were turned away there too after waiting. They stopped running the boats. (Again -- signage stating his would have been nice. :P )
Heavily congested walk to American Adventure, since the boats were not running to help lessen the foot traffic.
We arrived probably 25 minutes prior to the last show. Plenty of seating.
We lucked out as the band was still signing autographs from the second concert. I think that freed up space for others to sit. Although many people were holding seats.
We still were able to have very good seats right behind the handicapped seating.

Walked by the Eric Burdon and the Animals show while it was going on somewhere around 8:15 and the theatre seemed to be pretty much filled. Interestingly, when we walked back by the theatre at 9:30 after Illuminations they were already setting up gear for Paul Revere and Raiders for the next day.

I saw BJ Thomas at the end of last month on a Saturday evening and got last minute seats towards the back with no problem.

gee these show sound great!!!

We will be there in OCt . Is there a place where they have a schedule listed of whose going to be there?

I love going to concerts.

thanks

We just got back and saw Eric Burden while we were there. The crowds were not bad at all and there was still seating when the show started.

We did see the earliest show (5:45 I think) so I am not sure about the 7 and 8:15 times, but we had no problem.

Good show too

Eric

For Dznypal, you will be there during the Food & Wine Festival so you can attend the Eat to the Beat concert series! Here is the way it was set up last year so you can get an idea of when the concerts are, the Festival starts Oct. 1st this year so the dates will be different but the times will probably be the same. The artists might vary as well.

Eat to the Beat! Concert series with evening performances by popular entertainers on the America Gardens stage at no additional cost. Park admission is required. 5:45, 7:00 & 8:15 p.m.

Oct. 18 - 22: Sister Sledge
Oct. 23 - 27: The Spinners
Oct. 28 - Nov. 1: Three Dog Night
Nov. 2 - 6: The 5th Dimension
Nov. 7 - 11: Chic featuring Nile Rodgers
Nov. 12 - 16: Chubby Checker & the Wildcats

I saw Chic last year and they were FANTASTIC! I saw Gary Puckett earlier this month and he was really good too. I saw people going into the roped off front section and I was wondering what it was for. I'm kind of sad that I didn't know it was an AP viewing section. I could have sat there too! Oh well, now I know for next time. :)
