Crowds at Easter week?

We are arriving on Friday, April 18th. Should we visit MK on Saturday the 19th (day before Easter) or should we visit MK on Monday (day after Easter)? We leave for Vero Beach on Tuesday.

In addition, which park usually has the lowest attendance on Easter? We were thinking of doing Typhoon Lagoon.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's probably six of one, a half dozen of the other whether MK would be less crowded on Saturday or Monday. Possibly Monday would be better because there would be fewer locals adding to the crowd. A water park probably would be less crowded on Easter than any of the other major theme parks.

We were there for the week before and the week after last year, and although it was very crowded, careful planning made it enjoyable and manageable. EXCEPT, for a bad decision to go to MK the Saturday before Easter. Do whatever it takes to avoid that day. We even went at night, thinking that the parades would draw the crowds off the rides. Forget it. When we got through the gates, it was people at your elbow the whole time we were there (which wasn't long - just couldn't take it). Generally, we have found that any Saturday at MK isn't a real great idea, if you have any choice.

Didn't realize that Saturday was so bad at MK. We usually arrive on Saturdays and have never visited the park on that day. Is the attendance high due to locals? I am assuming that Easter Sunday will also be a mess, so I guess it will have to be Monday. The wait is just going to drive my 5 year old crazy!

I don't know how to do it, but see if schools have off Easter Monday, if they are off that day, the parks could be bad on that day also.

We have been in the MK on Sat., Easter Sunday, and Mon. Although each day was quite crowded, we felt that Mon. was the least crowded of the three.

How are crowds towards the end of Easter week? We are thinking of arriving April 25 (Friday).

Thank you Verandah Man. I believe we are going to stick with Monday. I am desperately trying to figure out an itinerary, because I need to make PS's next week. Depending on our experience this year, we may skip WDW the next time our vacation falls on Easter week.

To answer DebbieB, we usually arrive the week after Easter and the crowds are very managable! If you go to the park when it first opens, you can go through most of the morning with very little wait times. From noon to three, the wait times increase to 45 min - 1 hour for the popular rides. However, after 3:00 and into the night, the wait times start to decrease again.

I am a DVC owner and if you look at the point charts, the week after Easter week is decreased to Magic time instead of Premuim time, which says a lot.
