Crowds at DCA during Halloween Party?

We are considering going to DLR on Friday (October 15) just for the day. I'm not sure I want to shell out an additional $50 per person to go to the Halloween party when we already have annual passes. So I thought we would just go over and do DCA when DL closes.

My questions is, though, will DCA become a zoo when DL closes? Or are most people there on a party day going to the party?

And am I really missing out on the Halloween party? I have two daughters, ages 5 and 2.

DL was really crowded during MHP day during the first few hours while the MHP ticket holder and the regular guests were all in the park on Friday. I would assume that DCA will be crowded on a Friday night during MHP. I don't know how crowded DCA will be during MHP, but from what I heard, it was crowded at DCA.

MHP is for everyone young and old. If your kids like to see and meet a lot of Disney characters, this is something I would do. Not only Halloween Screams fireworks is only exclusive for the MHP ticket holders and the rides at DL were not as long. Some rides like SMGG is the longest and other rides around park were walk ons.

We were there last Friday and went over to DCA. Took us one hr to get on TOT. People were everywhere. I would say it wasn't extremely crazy but expect it to be crowded. We left after doing TOT. We were tired and didn't feel like dealing w/ the crowd and lines.

I was there last night and both DTD and DCA were packed! I'm not sure if there were other factors involved there, but Soarin had a wait time of 150 minutes at 9:30 the lines for food were also really long.

Remember, this is Columbus Day weekend. Busy busy! It was nasty-busy last year, too.

ElecTRONica opened at DCA last night, so I'd expected to be a little more crowded than usual on weekend nights for a while, not even taking MHP into account. Last night it was INSANE but it was the first night, and a lot of people though Daft Punk was going to be there. I'm sure it won't be as crazy after this weekend, but I'd still expect it to be pretty busy.

Oh I hope not. We will be there this weekend.

Why wouldn't it be? Lots and lots of kids and teachers have the long weekend off, and many of them go to DLR. Last year we entered DCA first during our trip (my b'day is the 12th, which is the true Columbud Day, and last year that was also the holiday monday), we were AP holders, and they made us get a hand stamp, just in case there was *another* park closure (the day before DL had a partical closure b/c of capacity), so that we could prove we'd already been in a park (puts you higher on the list of those who can get in during a partial closure). That was while *entering* DCA... The crowds didn't let up until Tuesday.
