You won't need EPs during the day...crowds are light. You can purchase EPs at either park if you feel wait times are too much to bare.

Went in 2010 around Halloween, stayed offsite and had no problems. The longest we waited for any ride was 30 minutes and that was for FJ. This was on weekdays though. I don't know how the weekends were.

With Halloween being on a Thurs., any thoughts about the weekend after or how busy the last night of Halloween horror night is since it is a sat. ?

It's really hard to gauge how HHN crowds will be that last night but I would say it will be busy...not during the day but for HHN...yes.
