crowds and temps in August?

I've never been to Florida in August - in fact I said I never would go, but there was this opportunity..... so I'll be at the parks 8/16-8/20. It is supposedly a "value" time - perhaps many will be getting ready for school, so what should expect crowd wise at this time??

It is extraordinarily crowded. It is so crowded that people are almost all you see. It isn't like in the winter, when you can walk around and look at things. It is just people, people, people. End of August is better, though.

I would avoid the EMH park(s) and if one of the remaining ones had EMH the day before, pick that.

Also, I know it will be sultry and hot, but how bad are we talking - up to 90 I'm good - after that I'm looking for AC attractions.

It is unbelievably hot and humid. Just so HOT and HUMID. It's the kind of heat/humidity that you can't "good mood" your way around. It's is almost unbearable.

True and false. Sometimes they come and go, sometimes it rains for hours, once in a while it rains all day long.

The folks who say, "It only rains for 20 minutes" are wrong.

OP, just remember that everyone's heat tolerance is going to be different. DH can take the heat no problem. We live in Florida and he was out mowing the lawn at 2:30 in the afternoon and it was HOT. Me? I'm inside most of the time. However, I can still do Disney in the extreme heat. You just have to plan carefully. Follow the suggestions given. Be very careful with the children.

Would it be better to go in the cooler months? Definitely.

But not everyone can go then. Don't worry- it'll be wonderful because you're at Disney.
