We are looking to go to the Universal Parks Sunday 12/19 - Tuesday 12/21. Has anyone ever been at this time of year? What are the lines like for guests staying off site? Obviously Harry Potter will change this some...

You said it...HP will change the crowds but historically it hasn't been too bad. The parks close at 6pm that time of year...huge crowds aren't expected until 12/26 when the parks close much later.

Thanks! Would you anticipate lines for the bigger rides being around 30 minutes or more like an hour?

Ok now I am confused because on the Universal site

http://www.universalorlando.com/Resort_Information/theme_park_hours.aspx

the park is open until 9:00 p.m. from December 19-25. This is the week that we wanted to go. We are thinking to go on the 22 as it is listed as one of there least busy days.

We were looking at buying the half price tickets which you must enter the park after 2:00 p.m. as our kids only want to see the WWoHP. We thought that from 2:00 until 9:00 would give use plenty of time but if the park closes at 6:00 p.m. then that changes our plans and ticket choice.

No reason to be confused...at the time the postings were made, the park hours for December were not released. Last year the parks closed at 6pm but since HP has brought the crowds in this year, the hours were extended for IOA.

I guess the HP addition was worth all the $$ they spent on it because if they have extended hours then people are spending lots of $$ to come and see it.
