We are trying to plan a quick trip to the World for the 2nd week of December to see the Christmas decorations. How are the crowd levels in the park the Week of Dec 11? Is the weather warm enough to swim in the pools? Thanks

I think the first two weeks of December is one of the best times to go to Disney. The weather should be perfect and since you are from New York I would guess that it will feel warm enough for you to swim. I believe that the water parks will be closed at that time. The crowds are usually minimal at that time of year too. I say go for it! :earboy2:

Crowds are relatively low - IMHO, only parts of January and Septmber boast lower crowds (but maybe not noticably so).

Weather is variable - some years you'll have days in the 80's and some in the 50's. Pack layers.

The pools are heated and will be open. Only you can decide if the weather is good enough to swim. Sme of us from the "northern tundra" states swim no matter what - after all it's Florida and we're on vacation! LOL.

Best wishes -

One caveat...that time is popular at the DVC resorts b/c the points are so cheap...so you may have to waitlist or take a 1BR over a studio...

This is a great time to go! The crowds are very small. We find it too cold to swim though and usually avoid Splash Mountain also. You may need a coat at night.

The first two weeks of December are one of our very favorite times to go. Unfortunately, if you are thinking of this year, you might find no or very little availablility at this point, and you might have to be flexible with size of unit etc.

We have always gone in the first 2 weeks of Dec with the only time being this year that we went in May. Dec at that time is by far the best time to go. The parks may not be open as late but the crowds are very minimal and the decorations are second to none. We always visit the waterparks and swim every night after returning from the parks. There is just something about swimming when you see the steam rising off the water at 10 or 11 PM.
