After much soul searching,my family of 4, wife and 2 boys -3 & 9, decided to make our 3rd trip to W DW the 1st week of June. How are the crowds?

Crowds seem to be moderate. Also, it's traditionally Gay Week the first week of June. Check out their schedule at www.gayday.com. That usually makes the crowds at MK on that Saturday horrendous, but doesn't seem to affect other parks much.

It's kinda difficult to explain how crowded it is.... It's not as busy as mid summer, because many of the nearby schools haven't finished. It's not nearly as busy as July 4th.... but it's more busy than May, September, etc.

We go every year at this time...because it's not as crowded or hot as mid summer. Oh.. make sure you check out the salmon at Artist Point. Late May and early June they fly fresh salmon in from the northwest... The salmon is incredible that time of year!

If you carefully plan you park activities, and make effective use of FastPass... you will not even notice the corwds.

See you there!

It sounds like maybe we've chosen correctly. I don't mind it being Gay Pride Days. I'm just feeling a little guilty as we live in NY state, and school will still be in session. Our oldest will have to miss a few days but I want to avoid crowds & heat. Also, I work at a college here & graduation is around the third week of May. So other than Memorial Day, this will be the soonest we could go. Our last trip was on the weekend of July 4, hot & crowded. Anyway, thanks.

We have visited WDW on several occasions during this time period (end of May/1st week of June). School ends a little before Memorial Day here, so we would go as soon as school was out in order to avoid the folks up north who still have school. (Nothing against yankees, just thought the crowds would be smaller.)

It has been less crowded during the 1st week of June than during our visits in middle to late March and the end of June. The parks close a little earlier than during the busier times.

Gay Days chooses the MK as the park to visit on the 1st Saturday of June. The MK is very crowded on that day. During our visits to WDW, WDW opened other parks an hour early for resort guests on that day. EE for MK was scheduled on Saturdays back then.

As a native New Yorker, who grew up in the South (Florida), I take no offense.

How early do the parks close in early June?

Will we still be able to see Fantasmic?
I don't want my 3 year old to miss that.

We have been there now three years during that time. This past June, MK closed at 7 or 8 depending on the night. Some maybe as late as 9 on a weekend night. Enight, they closed MK at 7 pm and did enight 7-10. AK closed at 6pm. MGM closed at 9 pm with Fantasmic! showing at 9pm. Futureworld in Epcot closed at 7pm and World Showcase closed at 9pm with Illuminations at 9 pm.

We find the crowds quite manageable during this time. As stated earlier, moderate crowds. Go early in the day, take advantage of Fast Pass when necessary and have a great June trip!
