Crowd question

Does Disney condsider how the DVC program effects the crowds in the parks? For instance, with SSR continuing to grow and the rumor of the CR wings becoming DVC locations, couldn't this create the possibility of even more overcrowding in the parks?

Granted this is a good problem for Disney to have but what kind of research do they do beforehand?

Maybe a 5th park is needed. Wouldn't that be great?!

IMHO they do take this into consideration and that's one of the reasons why it is less points to stay at certain times of the year (like early December) and many more points to stay during holiday periods. This is also the case for weekends. The point structure is an attempt at evening things off. DVC is actually pretty busy during some of Disney lower attendance times and you can often find a DVC room late during holiday periods, especially on weeends.

Naah, I'd rather see them spend the money on additional attractions at the current parks.

Another park just means more money spent on Restaurants, Souvenir Shops, Restrooms, Guest Services, parking lots, security--that's millions in infrastructure before you build a single attraction. Throw a couple more "E" ticket attractions in MGM and AK to try and make them whole-day parks, and everyone is better off for it.

Besides, with 80,000 DVC members and each of the 4 theme parks handling 8-12 million guests per year, the number of DVC visiting on any given day is probably just a drop in the bucket. More likely than not, DVC's biggest impact is to shift dollars away from the WDW resorts since members aren't paying cash for their rooms anymore.
