Crowd Outlook

The area where I grew up had a lot of nice Polish delis, diners and pizza places. Pizza is actually a big one for me because now my standards are a little too high.

Via Napoli is probably the only place to get good pizza in central Florida. It's awful everywhere else.
You might be interested in a new place opening in Flamingo Crossings called Simply Capri. It was supposed to already be open, along with a place called Lime. (both were already supposed to be open).

Simply Capri was created by the same Patina Restaurant Group that created Via Napoli, Tutto Italia, The Edison, and Vivoli il Gelato.

Via Napoli and Tutto are two of the better options on property, IMO. (The Edison was great when it was new, but the current menu is a bit disappointing. The gelati place is okay. I'm glad WDW has gelati. Maybe we just picked wrong, but all the flavors we tried were too sweet.) Still, I think if the place is somewhat offsite*, maybe it will be free to be better! They won't have to contend with Dining Plan, for example. That right there should make it interesting.

A bonus of the Simply Capri is that it will be open until midnight! (though a late night menu after 10pm). WDW REALLY needs a decent food option that is open late! We have come out of PM park hours hungry many times, but the WDW options are nonexistent. The menu looks good though! It has a bit of overlap with the Epcot options, but you won't have to enter Epcot.

Lime is just a little chain with tacos. Maybe not exciting to most folks, but we really enjoyed the one we ate at.

* Flamingo Crossing is outside the gates of WDW, but WDW owns the land. There's also residence for CM's there. So not quite in the bubble, but not completely outside of it either.

Ive heard crowds are shrinking. Not suprised with the cost of living crisis hitting many people.

We just booked or 10th April until 24th April.

Has anyone been april before? hoping as its 10 days after easter and spring break has been. Crowds will be moderate. Dont mind queues. But hoping it was be so busy they stop entry into parks. Anyone experienced WDW a week or so after Easter before?

My parents just did that trip. once spring break ended for most i guess the crowds dissipated by a good margin

Actually airlines/TSA are breaking 2019 passenger records so it's not cost of living impacting travel yet. The thing is international travel is booming. All those overseas trips delayed for 3 years are now being taken all at once, with less taking domestic trips.

You'll hit MA vacation week, but from what I can tell the MA/NH April vacations this year were lesser crowds than the February MA/NH vacation weeks.

Mass week!!

Usually the third week in April is the exodus from Massachusetts, lots of Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox shirts/hats

We've been in April several times. The week after Easter have historically seen a bit of an attendance lull, and I think it still is the case.

The weather is quite nice, and if a cold front moves through, you may need a light sweater or jacket at night or in the early mornings for a day or two.

We really like the flowers in EPCOT during that time. Great photo ops then.

Great, Thanks for all the info guys.

No sure what MA/NH is though being a brit!

We went in late September early october last year. It was pretty moderate other than weekends. If its anything slightly close to that. Be happy.
Mass week sounds fun though.

Massachusetts & New Hampshire - two states in the Northeast US.

Would explain the red Sox shirts. Penny's dropped now.

I know you need to take them with a huge punch of salt. But the crowd calendars. Or most of them anyway. Say the second Third and fourth week of April should be moderate crowds. So fingers crossed.

Thankfully even if queues are fairly large. They are much better than queueing at a British theme park!!! There's absolutely nothing to see or interact with. The velocicoaster queue is great. As is the guardians

Regional holidays in the U.S. amplifies attendance from those areas. The parks may not really be any more crowded than usual, but you may notice more people from the same region.

April is a great time to go as the weather should be fine and most of the spring breaks and Easter holidays should be over --- but Disney is still going to be busy.

Thank you. We know Disney will always be busy really. We went early October and even then. It was 70 mins for the mine train. Avatar was 80. Big queues for the main rides. And 20/30 for smaller stuff. Even Peter Pan was well over an hour at times. Universal seemed much less busy than Disney. I guess that's normal though? Disney as a whole. Is just more popular maybe? It was my first time in Orlando since I was 5. So maybe I'm just wrong on that. But seemed that way. Weekends obviously all just busy. Especially Saturdays. Sunday seemed less so.

The one regional holiday that definitely makes the parks feel busier is "Jersey week" in early November where it literally feels like the entire state of New Jersey makes the pilgrimage to Florida. I went around that time as a kid (am from NJ) and it wasn't uncommon to see your classmates and teachers. My mom saw her boss once on line for Tomorrowland Speedway.

There are also other events going on around that time to where Jersey Week is a never again for me lol

I'm planning my Nov 2024 trip and I have been checking the dates for the conference to avoid Jersey week and arrive when everyone is likely going home. I haven't been during that time but looking at historical crowd calendars showed me it was packed!

Easter breaks vary so much throughout the states so I usually avoid 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after Easter.

Wise decision. Jersey Week is pretty packed. It doesn't help that Food and Wine is at full force around then, plus the nicer weather which attracts locals.
