Crowd levels

We are going to Disney May 21-27. I am wondering how that week usually is with crowd levels. It is the week before Memorial Day. Any advice?

We'll be going in 2017 at the same time, and I'm hearing that all of May is pretty great as far as crowds and weather are concerned. It seems that people prefer the first half of May, but indicate that other dates leading up to Memorial Day are good as well. Have fun

what do you consider a crowd? will it be empty and park to yourself? no where close. Will you be able to get a few more fastpasses during the day? maybe.. weeks surrounding any long weekend I find higher crowds with the actual weekend and shorter week being much more crowded..

Also we are talking arriving this saturday? florida special olympics is going on at espn with opening ceremonies on friday.. they are competing but they have family that comes to support them and I can see early evenings being much more crowded than usual followed by really empty late late evenings.

It's going to depend on if pandora is opened and the crowds to experience it have started.

The Easy WDW crowd calendar shows crowd levels of 6 to 8, with it ramping up toward the end of the week. That's certainly not un-crowded, but not a worst case scenario either. The earlier part of the week (before Memorial Day weekend) will be better.

What is Pandora?

The new avatar themed land being built in animal kingdom. It's suppose to open in 2017 and based on how they are progressing, I think early 2017 is a possibility. It's going to make crowds, but it's also going to delay people from visiting once they know the opening date so that can be part of the crowds when it is opened.
