We are looking to book the Poly for next summer. We were originally doing either mid July or first wk of August. However, if we wait till after the 18th of Aug. we can save a few hundred bucks. Given, the nature of my job, I'm still not sure if it's even worth it. However, if it were significantly less crowded then that would make it worth considering even more.

We have gone right around New Years (a few days before/a few days after), beginning of March (Mardi Gras), early June, late June, July (beginning, middle and end), and end of August. Out of all of those times, I'd say that August was the least crowded. I think it's because there are so many southern schools with early/mid August start dates. We'd definitely choose to go during this time of year again for the savings and the slightly-quieter parks.

We traveled the last week in August on our last trip and we loved it! It was very hot but the crowd levels were great. We saw no more than 10 mins wait times for most rides& 45 tops for the headlines. If u used FP on those you are set. We are planning 2015 the same time.

We traveled mid May -very hot long wait times
April ct school vacation -NEVER again ! We could not move so many ppl!

I will deal with the heat for less ppl any day

I have been trying to decide on mid August also. To bad we cannot go the last week in August.

DH and I just returned from a short trip to the World and I can honestly say I didn't find the crowds bad at all. Wait times for rides like PotC and JC were about 20 mins. 7DMT was the longest wait I saw which was about 75 mins. but we had a FP+ for it. Even the new Mermaid ride was a walk-on. Over in Epcot the only long line we experienced was TT and that was about 50 mins. but we decided to do the single rider line. Walking around, crowds seemed thin. I'd imagine the end of August must be delightful as most schools are back in session.

We're leaving on Wednesday and we'll be there until 8/21. I"ll be anxious to see the crowd level compared to our trip last year & hoping it won't be too bad

Heading down on the 20th for a week. We went more in the middle of August last year and the crowds were definitely lower at the end of our trip than the beginning. Hoping that since we are in the last week we get low crowds. We don't mind the heat at all. We live in the NE and it will be getting colder soon so we enjoy the vitamin D while we can get it.

I would say the crowd levels were 5-6 last year and looking forward to those 3 and 4's this time around.

We go annually mid- to late-August (and sometimes over Labor Day.) Since most of the country is back to school already, there's a lot of Northeasterners in the park (from New York, New Jersey, New England, Canada) so we feel right at home (we're from NYC.) :) That said, the last few years have been a little more crowded than in past years (maybe everyone's catching on!) but still much more comfortable than other, busier times of the year that we've gone. We're heading down next Sunday, so hoping for a relatively quiet week!

We've always gone the last week of August, coming home Labor Day weekend. And it's been great each time! Super hot, but very manageable crowds.

This year we needed to push it a little bit earlier since DS is starting HS and needs to be back sooner. So we're leaving on the 20th, coming back a week later. Expecting it to be a bit more crowded than we're used to, but still hoping for not too bad!
