Crowd level should change my plans?

This is our first trip and I am looking at the crowd level estimates on easywdw. The week we plan on going is sept 28-oct 5- the crowd levels are 4s and 5s. The week before the crowd levels are 2s and 3s. (although the rain chances are higher) Is it worth it to change our dates? I originally pushed it to the last week in Sept in hopes it may be a little cooler.

If you don't mind more crowds your fine with the later date. It is more crowded because of the food and wine festival. It if you want a less crowded park go with the early date. If it was me I would go with the early date unless you are interested in the food and wine festival.

If it were me, I would not change. I don't think 4s and 5s are a big deal and not worth changing for.

I doubt that one week later will make much of a difference in the temperature from the week before. In any given year, temps could be either higher or lower or the same depending on how the weather fronts do or don't come through. But you can't know that at this time. Even rainfall as a criteria --- I don't think that you can count on it being significantly different between the 2 weeks. In any given year, maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

In my opinion, temps and rainfall might be more relevant criteria if deciding between, say, September and January, but not between 2 consecutive weeks in any given month.

If F&W is not important to you, I'd suggest the week before.

If you look on Touring Plans website, which is the only website I would trust for accurate crowd predictions, the week you are planning on going, Sept 28-Oct 5th, the highest crowd number for that week is going to be a 3. So you are fine with the week you already have planned to go.

The difference between 2's and 3's to 4's and 5's isn't major so if it were me I wouldn't change plans because of that.

You mentioned that the chance of rain the week prior is higher. I'm curious as to where that information was obtained? The weather in Orlando is highly unpredictable and since your vacation is still 3.5 months away you can't factor weather into the equation at this point. Heck, even when you're in the home stretch and able to look at the 10 day outlook you still can't believe the forecasts. Last October we went from 89 degrees one day to needing to buy sweaters the next. The forecast may be "sunny" but if a storm system rolls in you can find yourself caught in a downpour.

ITA. Not to mention that I think this gives those crowd predictors WAY too much credit for pinpoint accuracy. There is no way I would change my plans due to a crowd calendar -- not TP and not easywdw.

Basically, you're going during a slow-ish to medium-ish crowd period. We've been that time of year many times (and will be there while you are, actually!), and it's pretty easy to get A TON done each day (particularly if you're early risers).

No worries, and have an awesome trip!!! pixiedust:

I would go the week earlier to take advantage of "Free" Dining. It's available for check-ins as late as 9/25: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/

I wouldn't change - it's my favourite time of year to go.

If I could change my week of 8-10s for September/October I would, but I'd rather go when it's busy than not at all :)

We be never looked at any crowd calendar or what not.... It's all predictions and as far as I'm concerned, no one can predict the future... Let alone a head count...

We've got to WDW since 1977, 49 times and back then there was no such thing, early only one park and we went with the flow... Still do... We'll look at the EMH's for the MK, attend the am ones and the rest of the parks we play by ear... Wherever we want, sometimes getting on the first bus to pull in.... Never no regrets.... We always make RD, and head out when the crowds pour in or it hits around noon... We enjoy the resort and head back ....

2's.... 4's.... 8's.... Mean nothing to us.... Couldn't tell a 4 from a 6 and I'm not counting heads to make a difference.... Don't fret over it, just have fun!
