Hi

I've been watching the crowd level predictor for our trip 19-26th April and it has just gone up from a rather pleasant 5-6 to an alarming 7-9!

Does anyone know why this might be

Thanks

That's the week after Easter, one of the most busy weeks of the entire year. I can't believe the Touring Plans crew ever put it that low in the first place.

actually not the week after Easter- that is the week before , but lots of the Northeast do have spring break still and I think the word is out about the 4/3 deal and many taking advantage -

Easter is April 12th this year, so the week of April 19th would be a full week after. I will arrive on the 23rd and am hoping the crowds have thinned out by then!!

April 12 - 19 is Easter Week; April 19 - 26 is the week after Easter Break.

After reading this thread, I check our dates on TP. What was once a week of 7's, now are 8's and 9's. Yikes! I thought we were in a recession and people weren't taking expensive vacations! Oh well....

Orthodox Easter is on April 19th....perhaps there will be a huge influx of Greeks and Russians heading to the park for a post-Easter excursion. :scratchin: I know this Greek wishes she was!

Yeah, everything for the next couple of months just jumped up - the discounts must be working! :confused3

I was going by thishttp://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=25937853#post25937853&highlight= to determine crowd level, but I guess I should expect larger than normal crowds for our April 23rd trip. I believe grad night is the 24th and 25th so that could increase crowds too!!

Well, that's why Touring Plans had the number so low in the first place, they thought the recession would keep people out of the parks, thereby lowering the crowds, but the 4/3 offer and the other discounts Disney is offering this year are too good for people to pass up.

That's Spring Break in our area. I know of at least 5 families without even really thinking about it heading to WDW that week. One I just helped plan her trip today! :)

You are not alone...TP increased my crowd levels to 8's for everysingle day we are there...May 3rd to the 9th. Previously they posted 4's and 5's with only one 8. Oh well we will definitely be purchasing those Park Hoppers now:thumbsup2. Actually upon looking at the crowd calendar a little closer, TP has 8's and 9's listed for every day in May...I am thinking something is not right here.

we are going tomorrow. i had been keeping tabs on the crowd calendar (earlier this week i checked again), and other than tomorrow's "8", the rest of our visit was to be 6s, 5s, and a 7 on the last day. after reading this thread, i checked the calendar, and now it's "9" on both our arrival and departure day, with 8s and 7s in between. i'm kind of upset about this, since we usually depend on the calendar to pick low-crowd days. oh well. we'll just have to make the best of it. hopefully they are like weather forecasters, and the crowd forecast is wrong :)

That's when we arrive as well. It has increased since the last time I looked as well. Hope it isn't too bad.

I'm thinking the same... Late April all the way through mid-August are at the same level, regardless of holidays and school schedules and all the other things that usually have some effect. :confused3

I did have one thought - TP crowd predictions are actually *wait time* predictions rather than measures of attendance... Could this be a reaction to the latest round of layoffs at Disney, and an assumption that while attendance has fallen slightly, staffing has fallen by a greater margin which will thus increase wait times?

I think as long as you follow the least crowded park per day and arrive well before park opening, I'm talking 45 minutes before, you will be fine!!!
Also, for the pp that mentioned buying that park hopper now. I was on a different thread this morning and Robo mentioned not to purchase the hopper before you have to use it. So that way if you never use it, you won't be out any money. So only apply the park hopper on the day you actually use it. He said just to go to the Guest Services window before entering the park you want to hop at and they will then apply the hopper. I was going to purchase a hopper pass for my upcoming trip but wasn't quite sure we would use it so now I have the option and will wait until we actually use it to apply it!!

Sillly question... I'm trying to access TP at work and I don't have my book with me, so I can't answer the questions and see the subscriber's info. Would anyone be willing to provide me the words? You can PM me, if you want.

I need the last word printed in the text at the bottom of page 273 and, excluding chapter titles and numbers, the first word printed in the text at the top of page 176?

Thank you so much... I'm not sure why bossman gets irritated when I have my Disney stuff sprawled over my desk...but he does. :p
