Crowd Level a 6 on Sept 23 at MK?

Ok, we are doing a 4 day cruise and only have 2 days at WDW. We are actually arriving at the Poly on 9/22 and plan to relax and enjoy the pool, etc....Friday Sept 23 is our 1 and only day at MK. We have CRT ressies. Months ago when we planned it this way, touring plans had crowd levels at a 2. Now, it it says it will be a 6. Does anyone know why?

ugh...I hope it's not that bad. We will be checking in on the 23rd. I do think that MK has EMH that day and that could be why the 6. Strange it would be that bad in late Sept though. Where are you getting that info at? I did see people saying that the UG had a misprint for Sept.

No worries! The unofficial guide changed their rating system a few weeks back. Now the numbers are based on the longest wait for a major attraction at the busiest time of the day. So a 6 now means up to 60 minute wait at the busiest time of the day. If it was a four, it would mean a 40 minute wait, etc. The UG doesn't think it'll be busier than when they rated it a 2, they just changed the way they measured.

wow, thanks for this info! we set our dates for next year a few months ago and I took the touring plans site crowd levels into major consideration. I've noticed that the levels went up for our dayes and it made me nervous but now I see that nothing has changed other than their rating system. whew! thanks again!

Just a quick reminder to everyone reading the chart: 6.5 is the average on the new scale. That is, the average worst-case wait at the MK's headliner attractions is about 65 minutes for 2005 year-to-date. 4 is relatively light, and 8+ is "busy."

Thanks Len! Sounds to me though like sept 23 is still going to be busier than originally thought. I mean a 60 minute wait is still pretty long to me. And, if its a 6 and that is an average day, that does not sound like a low crowd time, but rather an average crowd time. Is there something special going on? Or is attendance just up? I was kind of hoping that it would not be very busy. Also, in looking at the charts, it seemed like all the numbers are high now. Are there an 1 or 2s on the charts anymore?

You'll notice that the 23rd is a Friday, which is MK's morning EMH day. Because the new rating system uses MK attractions, so that may be why it is rated higher than the surrounding days.
